Ummm
I'd be keeping my first. Especially since ur in the east....
Also don't like picking up the older injury prone player. Meh.
I'd take miks side every time..

Ur just being nice. There is no way he wins huge.
Ill take a non injury prone vanek at that age than an injury prone gaborik at his..

Gaborik replaces Vanek - similar BBKl production
and he adds Scandella + Fehr to his active lineup without losing anyone.
Paul becomes a much stronger team IMO....
this trade will actually help his 1st next year improve.....
plus he adds a 1st this year.

Exactly. CAR is not suddenly going to pass BOS, TOR, PIT, TBL, MTL, CLB, WSH, NYR, NJD, NYI etc. etc..That pick will be Top 10 (likely Top 7), while Mik's will be 16-24
Also Vanek vs Gaborik is not close. I'd wager no one in this league wants Gaborik anymore. Vanek meanwhile had a major spike in value last night and Paul wasted an opportunity here imo

Miks first will be a late one. Pauls first next year a top 7....
Fehr is one body check away from the ir...
Mik gave upnscraps to go with gaborik and picked up carolina first for next year to go with vanek.

I mean, it's ok. I welcome all comments. I wouldn't have done this deal at all if I didn't think it was good for me
Gaborik is definitely < Vanek. I told mik this multiple times before starting negotiations about 1.5 weeks on and off til today. The adds were the problem, and mik wouldn't budge with the adds I wanted him to pay.
The thing people in bbkl don't realize about my team is lack of NHL depth (in order to get out of bottom 5 standings consistently). Fehr + Scandella aren't some throw-away adds that are worth a draft pick or anything. These guys are full time NHLers in their prime age (Scandella being very underrated IMO) that will provide me pretty good depth over the season. All 3 guys have had some injury history and YES, I even mentioned to Mik via PM Vanek always has generally been healthier over Gaborik. TBH, Gaborik hasn't been injured all that much last 2 seasons and I like his chance to explode in CLB, as much as Vanek will in NYI. The kind of depth Mik gave me allowed me to think that by 2015, I won't be close to a bottom 5 team overall even with a tough division. 2014 1st NSH was a sufficient substitute in return.

By what like 7 games? Vanek doesn't have a season under 70. Gaborik has a bunch iirc.
Listen u hit a homerun here. Be grateful lol.

Ur grtting better paul but u still have a long ways to go before ur out of the draft lottery, no offense. Depth players won't move u up the standings. U need game changers. Fehr nor scandella are that. Imo at least. Gaborik also has no market valur in here and neither does fehr. I know this about fehr first hand..

upnscraps... apparently not many around here watched Scandella play during last season playoffs.
Oh, and Fehr solved his shoulder issues, he has taken plenty of bodychecks during the 73 games in a row he has played in the last 12 months (i.e. since being healthy)

73 games in a row? My gosh almost one 82 game season. How many years has he been in the nhl now? 7 or so?
Scandella...I don't give a shit what he did in the playoffs. This is a regular season league...

I agree with most of this Paul, lots of rebuilding teams need to realize that building up some depth is the quickest way to get out of the basement, I think you did good here.
