IMO, a player doesn't get 18 minutes of TOI by accident. 13 maybe. But 18 per game on Line 2, with 1:10 of SHTOI/g + 2:51 of PPTOI/g is not "given" to a player.

Just ask Zac Dalpe how hard it is. I think Gerbe is a classic case of "landing on a team he fits".

And I've watched like 6 Canes games this year. He has looked unreal in all.

Also, the season's sample is incredibly small but his advanced stats have been great as well:
