TBL & DET into the same divison just spells fun for me, Stevie Y vs Holland - I love the wings back with habs, leafs, & bruins -> IMO BUF belongs with NYR, NYI, NJD, PHI & PITT, despite their proximity to TOR - the rivalry just isn't there, only good thing about it is for Leaf fans to go fill the sabers rink a couple of times a year (doesn't benefit me)

I'm happy to have Vancouver in the same division again. My hatred for them is more fun now ...

The hatred isn't mutual. SJS is the only team who has consistently choked in the playoffs for a longer tenure then the nucks. You might hate us but we are mighty thankful to have you guys around :D

VAN has been doing it 20 years longer ... I don't get your reasoning.

I'll be the first to blast my team when they blow it ... which is often.

those 20 years we had poor management and even in our 94 cup run, we weren't a legit contender. I am not talking a "franchise" record of choking, I am talking a current team choking record lol. I never talk about teams as in entire history, I always refer to the present as it is relevant lol. As in the current cores of our teams both choke on a regular basis. I'd think you'd be a little more sympathetic as you know just as well as nuck fans what it is like to consistently underachieve.

He didn't make the team that year. That golf course backs onto my folks' property.

Interesting lines for team Canada's walk-through:

Team 1:
Kunitz - Crosby - Sharp
Marchand - Bergeron - Eberle
Lucic - Duchene - Neal
Hall - J.Staal - Thronton*

Keith - Weber
MEV - Boyle
Methot - Letang
Alzner - Green

Lou + Smith/Holtby

Team 2:
Couture - Tavares - Stamkos
E.Staal - Toews - Nash
Ladd - Getzlaf - Perry
MSL - Richards - Carter

Phaneuf - Seabrook
M.Staal - Doughty
JayBo - Subban
Hamhuis - PieT/Hamonic

Price + Crawford

Sounds like Lucic has specialized his training all summer for prep of the big ice - Duchene re-vamped his routine as well. I wonder how those changes work out. Not suprising to anyone here, but Thornton* pencilled in on the wing is a rather clear sign he's unlikely to make the team.

Press-conference details that this will not be the same team as 2010 team, game is too different, foot-speed a bigger issue, but not somoene who is not spacing aware & skates themself out of position (E.Kane's euro trial comes to mind). Hockey sense needed on the big ice, with only above average skaters.

I watched the presser this morning, they all preached 'foot-speed' and 'positioning'

you've got to think Jaybo is a lock, guy is easily the fastest dman i've ever seen live combined with excellent positioning - maybe one of the best.

Also left-handed... something our 'lock' group lacks. Add in chemistry with PieT and I think you have our shutdown duo. That's what works on paper, currently, for me.

Keith - Weber
? - Doughty
JayBo - PieT

I think Marc Staal has a really good chance, of course Letang,*Phaneuf*, Hamonic & Subban are eaisly capable of performing at this level. Big believer that we gotta take guys that could EASILY play up a role if needed. If Keith gets hurt, whoever is below him on the left side lineup should be able to play the bigger role. I wouldn't NOT take Subban, although his (+ Dion & Letang's) risk-taking nature might be a concern for the coaching staff. They're talking a lot about how risk-adverse the euro-game is.

My guess: only going by all this "speed and agility" talk

Crosby
Bergeron
Duchene
Hall
Tavares
Stamkos
Toews
Nash
Lucic
MSL
Couture
Ladd

Keith
Letang
JayBo
Subban
Doughty
PieT
Seabrook or Dion

Lou
Price
