Non-playoff teams talking trash to one another is cute.

Hmm, I don't believe that's a top 3 d-core, there are some insane 6 man d groups in the BBKL - all #1 or #2 for team toi... And awesome h2h contributors in one way or another.

But no, I am not being nice - those 2 teams look very similar to me. Don't have much history of pulling punches to save face for another GM - not why we are here IMO - and most guys, most days, understand that these comments are said in good nature. If we wanted nothin but compliments we'd have some restrictions on forum conduct.

Would i do tho trade? Nope. But do I see why someone would? Yep. Hell I think a GM I know would have done it had the cap not been unacceptable in the swap for them.

My old D-core was:

Markov - Myers
Bieksa - Hamhuis
Kulikov - Gleason/Larsson

That would have been arguably a top 5 before I moved Bieksa off for forwards.

A young up and coming team! I'm well aware I am not challenging for any titles just yet ;).

See I've built my team quite differently from most GM's not named Hong! I have a handful of players (kovy, vanek, ehrhoff, greg campbell, stuart, michalek) who are already at their peaks, but for the most part, I have build a team of young players who have yet to fully reach their potential.

In all seriousness, your team will obviously be competing for the 7/8 spot. I just think I will be right there competing for that spot with you. *fingers crossed*

Whats all this going to look like when we only get half a season in? Say they start Jan 1st. We need to redo our schedule. These playoff matchups will be decided on a much smaller sample size.

Ye probably top 5 - but Kev was a top pairing Dman who played all situations with epic h2h stats . And I still look at markov with a big question mark.

But it's shocking how often we gotta learn that people like their own team - that's why they traded for the players! Guys they like that someone else likes less... Almost too logical.

Have you looked at other d-cores?

Whose are you referring to?

Schedule, IMO - we just cancel through weeks as we lose them - I made the schedule division based for the final weeks (instead of the start).

Ye I don't claim to have the other d-cores memorized, but I do recall what shiv's looks like, have over confidence in my own group, and then NJD, COL, LAK, off the top of my head I'm confident in their dominance.

There's definitely other good ones, I just personally think Chuck's among the top, and with the exception of Markov they are young with plenty of room for further development too.

Edler-Giordano
Hamonic-Orpik
Boyle - * Carle* -> so Shiv is missing his #6 currently, but that's 5x top pairing dmen.

Burns-Carlson
JJ-Ference
Jackman-Gill
Fayne -> Shook's group in SJS isn't as young, but all big minute and big stat producers.

Shep has Franson and Schenn, who both bring question marks -> but a dominant top 4 as well.

Steve out in Hollywood has a totally loaded core:
Bieksa-Goligoski
Karlsson-Klein
Suter-Alzner/Elliot/Barrie/Petry (5x top 2 toi guys)

of course cannot go an entire post w/o tooting my own horn:

Fowler-Weber
Gardiner-Green
MacDonald-Bogosian
(6x top 2 toi)

Neel in COL rather safe back there as well:
Chara-Yandle
Greene-Coburn
Clark-Mcquaid --> bottom pairing leaves something to be desired. But Schultz, Blum and Petrovic all pushing for roles in the NHL.

So ye, even a quick glance through some teams I expected to be good yeilds d-core's I'd confidently vote on against
Markov - Myers
Gleason - Hamhuis
Kulikov - Larsson
Especially if, like me, you have doubts on Markov.

You forgot Orlov in MTL as well, and I'd say Clark (currently UFA) is actually under rated but still not on par with the others in COL's D core, Mike Green like Markov in MTL has issues staying healthy even if they aren't quite as bad as Markov's, and he's younger so more time to get it back together; and Bogo has been somewhat inconsistent until this past season but seems to be figuring it out. LAK is probably the best on this list that I can concede. SJ has a good group but is largely periph based as opposed to being all around threats (exceptions in Burns, Carlsson and JJ). Then Shiv also has a quality group. Still would put Chuck in contention for the top 3 or maybe 4 groups though, especially considering he is 7 men deep.

I've been told by someone that i have a weak D-core. If you look at my stats I am pretty sure I am right up with the big boys. I think i may be weak in offense but one of the strongest in D periph cats. So yea i guess I am weak.

Seabrook - Garrison
Robidas - Boychuk
Weaver - Engellend
ex. Spurgeon
