man, i LOVE this!

Shiv, would you like to relieve Kareem's duties here? http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=6251

I've been very disappointed when he left because of that bet, it would be nice to get a worthy replacement there as evaluator of GMs capabilities.

Here is what I think. YOu'll probably make the playoffs now. But you will never come close to winning. Teams like Sheps, Shook's, Steve's, Anton's, Bry's etc. will never let you even get out of your conference. So enjoy your little win here and keep arguing about how you paid fair value.

I'm willing to bet a 1st every year that you won't make the Conference Finals. How's that?

You mean the way you bet Kareem and asked me to do the same that you'll make the playoffs when 16 teams make it out of 30 - in the west where 9 out 15 teams have no shot at winning?

Overstatement and a half. Mik is a fine GM and his team is easily a lock for the playoffs.

I don't think you realize how annoying you were in this thread. I'm glad me calling you a subpar gm got you to shut up about how Buffalo did very well in this trade.

You guys are extemely under-rating Etem. He's the first WHL to hit 60-goals in the last 11 seasons. He had 61 goals/107 points in 65 games. He has loads of speed and will be a good scoring top 6er.

It was a no-brainer for me, as I value Etem as much as I valued my pick.

lol this debate is going end-less..it's nice to have some discussions but is more like trying to correct ppl's every single word instead of a nice hockey discussion...
may i suggest a mod lock this up? the trade is done.. yes phion could have gotten more for b rich.. while mik did his own share for his team and come up being winner of the deal.. but hey its a deal that happens to every GM before.. esp it's a reasonable deal that every rebuilding team does and it's not like this is the worst deal happened in the league.. nothing to troll about... (i still rmb once matt joined the league and made a trade with nick and everyone yelled veto... well.. it all happens when new GM comes in... yes and im saying you MATT you noob!!!)

no one is questioning Etems value or the value of BUF 1st if you are rebuilding. Simple fact is you could have gotten more. If that 2nd was a perifs based 3rd liner or something I would have been ok with it even.

Again Phion don't take offense to this. it is just in the past we have had GM's completely strip their teams of any valuable assets and that is why there is a strong reaction here. Everyone here is just mad at Mik and his hypocracy as no GM has raised more stink in this league about previous GM's pilaging new GM's for the sake of their own gain over the leagues. Shep really nailed it on the head here imo.

hey now, i thought i was done with my points already before you called be subpar GM.. so don't get credit for that!
Besides, "subpar GM" is a clear upgrade from "retard", it's just that i was hoping to get some easy picks out of your qualified predictions when i read my team will forever be shit.

I have to have one word for the hypocrisy on here that Mik pointed out that half the people crying rape had there teams built by making incredibly one sided deals in their favors. I know teams like mine were absolutely dismantled at some point because of terrible trades, I inherited probably the worst team in the league because of that. But that's jsut what happens when you have a trady heavy league with some very smart gm's and others not so much,. Phion's a smart GM and Etem is a top prospect, I'm personally not a huge fan of Etem but being new to how "bbkl" values things I could see why he made this trade, in a few years from now his futures will probably be worth more than B Rich.

We all admit it and have made giant strides to prevent it from reoccuring. How is that hypocritical? We admitted it was wrong and attempted to fix it. That is anything but hypocritical my friend.
