Re: Jack Johnson
You're off your rocker. Subban obviously > JJ. But if Subban is a 1A, JJ is a 1B. Elite #1 D-man who is very cheap. Subban is crazy cheap this year which makes him a special case, but next year Subban will be 7.5M and JJ will still be 4.357M.Big Fun wroteCOLONyou're comparing JJ to Subban first off
As the owner of both of those guys i'd take Subban far over JJ.
i'm not trying pick a fight, i just dont think subban and JJ are comparible...i think if you look at comparible (bbkl value wise) i'd compare Schenn and not Subban.
I can almost foresee a Subban for JJ deal happening then between 2 teams where one team needs to shed cap. Look at Ryan Suter - who can really afford to have him on their team anymore ven though he is great?

Re: Jack Johnson
Not sure why you keep on bringing up Subban. It's already known that I had no interest in trading him at the time and as a result Shep paid a lot to make me change my mind.
As for me only making trades for players I really like... well, considering this isn't a money league and it is for fun, why would I not do that? It's been that way for as long as you've been throwing around terrible offers. Which would mean around 5 years now.

5 years seems to be the same amount of time that Kovalchuk will be in the KHL. When are you going to realize you need to start tearing it down anyways? Who has 1st NYR?KapG wroteCOLONNot sure why you keep on bringing up Subban. Keep trying to goad me into some sort of fit of rage with regards to Kovalchuk Shiv. Thing is, it's just not going to happen.SuperMario wroteCOLON5 years seems to be the same amount of time that Kovalchuk will be in the KHL. What I can guarantee you is going to happen is that you are going to fire out a few more terrible low ball trade offers in the next couple days. That's almost as solid a guarantee as the sun rising and setting each day.

Shep, Shook, and Paul
my brothers from another mother
however, Paul's mother is a very distant one, you'd almost think she's asian or something.

I would compare JJ to Subban. Hell irl I prefer JJ.

the only comparable is they both appear to be selfish, piece of shit humans lol.Nick wroteCOLONI would compare JJ to Subban. Hell irl I prefer JJ.
Love JJ in BBKL no doubt number 1, but he leaves a lot to be desired in real life. He is one of those guys who has elite, elite talent but his hockey sense doesn't match. Great player and I agree with the 1B or 2A assessment but not in the league of Subban. Not unless he can somehow put it together mentally. imo anyways.

I've had both on my roster (at the same time) and JJ isn't as consistant as Subban. I for one, would offer a shitton more on Subban, hell, i've even offered duchene + for subban lol I wouldn't offer Duchene for JJ, not even close!

I have no doubt that you make positive contributions as an Admin or in the CC. But on the general forums, you only seem to comment to troll people - and I'm not referring to you hating on my trading style, which I am very comfortable with. In BBKL, Subban > JJ till next year at his 2.5 ish cap hit. When Subban gets 7.5 as a Norris winner and JJ is 4.357 for almost the exact same stats (better in some cats, worse in some), you will change your tune next year.
Same thing happened with Letang. When Mike got him, Letang was one of many 3.5M contracts. Slowly everyone around him got 5.5-7.5. How many elite #1 d-men will be making 4M ish in a year?

Re: Jack Johnson
Im not basing anything on next year. My comment was only discussing Subban being a real life better player than Johnson. Note the first line in my comment "Love JJ in BBKL" lol. Quit pulling a Kareem and actually read what I wrote before arguing it lol. My comments have nothing to do with his bbkl skills or value.

As for your comment - JJ has not hit his ceiling yet, I agree completely. He hasn't quite put it together. But he was under the shadow of Doughty for a while there and is slowly coming into his own. Doesn't the fact that he hasn't put it all together yet he is still a #1 BBKL d-man make him all the more appealing though? People coming in here saying he's no Subban aren't fair to JJ as that discrepancy will be adjusted in a year. Subban's contract is pretty fucked when you think about it. Karlsson got 6.5M after hsi 1.3M contract because of the year he had. Subban has a similar year but has that year a year after on his contract timeline than Karlsson so we find this amazing bridge contract for BBKL = gold to us. Wait a year. Subban at 7.5 will change things and JJ will seem like the easy option.

Re: Jack Johnson
Subban at 7.5 is a bit of a stretch...
i'd guess he gets signed to the same contract as karlsson.

Re: Jack Johnson
There are several comparables out there: Suter, Weber, Doughty etc. Karlsson was on the low end of that as he was much younger and it was only his second contract. This would be Subban's third. Subban's camp would go in asking for 7.7 ish, MTL counters 6.5, they end up around 7.Big Fun wroteCOLONSubban at 7.5 is a bit of a stretch...
