Sure he looks good this year, but I credit Phil the Thrill for that.
As was already mentioned of course Grabbo is struggling when he is playing with the players who lack offense. Grabbo's offensive creativity has been stifled and he resorts to trying to do too much on his own resulting in turnovers. There was a reason he was awarded the contract he has and if you swapped Bozak and Grabovski's role this season the #s would look vastly different.
Bozak's only redeeming quality is faceoffs and at 53% he is far from the elite. He has won so many because he is routinely given the most icetime and draws out of our Cs. Kadri looked pretty good with Kessel last night and Im sure Grabovski would too. I have heard the Dominic Moore comparison thrown around before and I think it is fitting. He is not a #1 center and would be a good 3rd line C for most teams.
amen
id give bozak 3.5 to 4 anything higher is to much imo
as for Grabo he's lost his confidence, playing without is "jump" and playing with 3rd and 4th liners. he's playing like 12 to 14 minutes a night, what do you think is gonna happened
i hope he re finds his game for playoffs or given more of an opportunity to play with better players
When you watch Grabo vs Bozak play you can tell 2 things:
Grabo has twice the talent
Bozak plays with more confidence.
If Grabo can regain his form i'd much rather have him. Last night he looked better with JVR, i think Randy needs to keep those guys together, and keep Lupul with kessel.
agreed.....
and imo JVR needs to drive the net and keep his feet moving more .... to many times last night he was coasting though the neutral zone and looking to pass the puck off

JVR looked good with kessel, but who doesn't really, Kessel takes too much heat, when really he often creates most of the oppurtunties for his linemates.
I think Randy needs to keep the JVR - Grabo - Kulemin/komorov line together. Some decent chemistry between those guys.
and when bozak comes back, he'll be back with Kessel, i'd also keep Lupul up with them.....give kadri Frattin and komorov/kulemin.
Colborne has looked really good too, keep him in.

you don't separate Kadri/Lupul in my opinion.
go with what got us here:
JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Kulemin
Macarthur - Grabovski - Frattin
Komarov - McClement - McLaren
Orr

I'd be fine with this, wondering what the defense will look like come playoff time though. At this point Gardiner getting into the line up is looking like a pipe dream barring injuries, but Im hoping ROB is in the pressbox too.
In all likelihood Im thinking we dress:
Gunnar - Phaneuf
Fraser - Franson
Liles - O'Byrne
Habs have a quick team and I think they have the potential to expose O'Byrne as the penalty taking pylon that he is.

I think an ideal scenario would be to dress Gardiner, but to give him very limited/sheltered 5 on 5 minutes. He's a gamebreaker offensively and if we're down by a goal in the 3rd, being able to throw him out with live legs could be huge.
That said, the playoffs are a war of attrition and using only 5 D predominantly is likely going to come back to bite you eventually.

btw, a deal's been made with this package so the players in it are off the table. just waiting out the nonsensical trade freeze

I don't see Carlyle playing Komarov and McClement on the 4th line unfortunately, he has been playing them predominantly on the third line this season, why stop now? It also seems unlikely that he will stop dressing McLaren and Orr at this point, which I despise.

i dont mind one of them in the lineup....but both is a bit much, when those 2 are on the ice together the puck never leaves our zone....it's a scary 'bad' duo.

I don't mind one fighter either.
