Peter wroteCOLONAlright guys its official.
The Dallas Stars are drafting Nathan Mackinnon and Aleksander Barkov at 1st and 4th.
if one of you guys want to take Barkov earlier, go for it, I'll take Jones or Drouin.
or you could have barkov, nichushkin, monahan if you make the deal with me.
6th and 8th for first?
most years I'd say no, this year I'll say, probably not, but maybe?
I do really like the 6 and 8 spots, but I'd have to know I'l get one of my top 7 guys at 8th because my top 7 has a pretty solid line above 8th.
pending the decision on PHX's fine for missing GP. it might be #6 and #7 for 1st
thought the CC made a decision to fine the team not the owner of a pick that was traded a year ago lol. My understanding anyways.

I won't say yes, but I will hesitate to say no for a while. I'd love two of Nichuskin/Lindholm/Monahan. Mackinnon should jump straight into the NHL and be a stud in near time, but all those guys have huge upside, and are way better than 6 or 7th in any other year imo.

So basically, just Pete and I swap spots...I'll adjust the draft board including Buffalo's two spot penalty.

I don't think so, from what I have been told (haven't even discussed PHX 1st as I didn't know he'd miss) the CC wants to fine the team that missed the gp req. Seems silly to fine a 1st when it would be just as easy to fine a different draft pick they have ie if they own a different 1st or if that doesn't exist, a future 1st. Team that makes the error should be accountable, not a pick that was traded a year ago lol.

I also don't think it is fair to fine Ennzie period lol. Only today is he allowed to make trades. I think in the past we have shelved fines for new gms, seems like another one we can avoid. Just my opinion but wont bother to argue that one.

Since I know what I've got, I'll put 'er on the market and see what the offers are. Gotta also snag a 2nd rounder along the way to pay my fine.

There's no fair answer. Either way someone's getting boned.

And yes, it looks like through majority vote in the CC the PHO pick will be fined. Be it one or two slots that is unknown.

KK doesn't seem fair to me but I wont complain if that is what is decided. Crazy didn't even think this was a possibility.

Should I be worried about my MIN 1st too?

Don't think anyone in the CC wants to fine the MIN pick.

I think we've had this issue before. It's hard to ding a particular pick of the offending team if another team owns it...you pretty much need to ding a pick that the team possesses or in my case, I have to acquire a certain asset that I have to forfeit right away.

this is the impression I was under as well. especially with the team that did not make requirements getting dressed by the CC each week and unable to make trades to better themselves. Alas though this will be the last comment and I will leave this up to the CC to discuss.

Anyone know the full 30 team draft order? I got STL/WSH first rounders, curious where they are in ranking.

lmao I was about 1-2 mill over the salary cap all year, finished with 10 more gp than the minimum, and banked on having two top 5 picks. No idea how I pulled that all off, pretty lucky.
