I like for the side getting JT, but it's really close to even IMO.

unless foligno can put up ~50 pts consistently along with his 200+ hits, it's a win for hong.
eberle is my favourite hockey player and ive literally been trying to get him from hong for 2+ years. he will confirm this lol.

J ebs imo can score at a similar rate to jt. so really folignos periphs make up for the fow loss. Tavares is more likely to score 100 points in the future, but it wouldnt surprise me if ebs was 90+ consistently.

i also had this pipedream/concept that i wanted to acquire every player that had a part in eberle's tying goal against the russians at the WJC.
Ellis keeps it in at the line, sends it down to Hodgson who works it out to Tavares, who flips it in front to Eberle.
Kareem and Cliff will both verify that I came hard after Ellis and Hodgson, but it became apparent that I wasn't going to get Eberle without giving up Tavares so that idea folded haha.
As I've said, was there before, funnest game I've ever been to.
Tyrell
Giroux
Ellerby
Schenn
and my memory has left the remaining guy a mystery - Sam Gagner sounds right though #9. This is was the beginning of my love affair with Luke btw - holy shit did he dominate.
Too bad only Giroux really turned out (too soon?)
This was also one of the sweetest plays: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7WTtWHOmf4[/youtube]
Cherepanov (RIP) with a slew foot to lose his man, Sutter being sutter back checks like crazy and ends the play, in style if i say so myself.

He'll never touch 60pts and I'd be surprised if he hits 50pts consistently.
You cannot say that with any certainty. Big men are notorious for developing later in their careers, it wouldn't shock me in the least if Foligno developed into a 60 point player in the future.

LOL yes i love that sutter hit. i've watched that clip so many times. also, first vid is of a marlies brawl, but i know the fight you're talking about.
someone gets hit late after an off side and then pierre ejaculates as schenn manhandles some russian in front right?

confirmed.
Sounds like a trade.. do i get anything from this confirmation.?
and no even 30pts (which should easily surpass it esp with the guys he play with) i think is pretty gd for you foligno is a hitting machine..

LOL, quoted for truth.
by far the worst trade i ever made, but still somehow rewarding when i think of the shit that went down when i was shopping those guys around, lol.
I had to cut the roster to stay under the limits, and i was shopping M.Foligno for a 4th rounder (among others).
This was the kind of comments i was getting, not even from GMs i was directly offering such players:
Marcus Foligno is an overrated plug who was selected in the 4th on name and blood line alone. In his 3 year NHL career (on a terrible Sudbury team) he has failed to score more than 39 points in a season, and this is with top 6 ice time and the mentorship of the person who knows his game and tendencies best, his father. If the kid can't hit 40 points in the OHL, what makes you think he can hit 10 in the NHL?
So in the last week of the market i decided to propose a ludicrous package for a 5th rounder to a couple of Eastern Conference teams with roster room.
Kyle had to pick 3 guys out of the ones i made available (my bad, eventually i added Spurgeon to the list, the fact i signed him as a free agent made me feel fine with that) and he chose Foligno, Spurgeon and Macias.
Funny that the laziest trader was the one taking advantage of the situation.
Something similar may happen again this fall btw.

You know my number my friend.....Gimme a call. I gots even more roster space.
In the end though i think i traded Foligno away as a toss in to get a deal done. I kind of regret it in hindsight. But Spurgeon is a gem. I can see him being Minny's PP QB. With Suter and Parise there now PP points could be plentiful.

i wouldn't go that far. He has a good mind for the game, but Minny has Ds with more potential that may step into his role pretty soon, so his future production is probably linked with them succeeding or failing (and of course, i think and hope Brodin and Scandella will succeed :p ).

Yea, I think your opinion is a bit biased based on players you own...lol. But so is mine!

Honestly, I think Spurgeon has the skillset to do that but his size is an issue. He is a target. In his own end he is better but needs improvement. I still see the top 4 as Suter, Gilbert, Scandella and Spurgeon. Scandella is due for an increase in role though.
