Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONI always ask at least two opinions, been burned many times by trading for stats and hoping to move a player later only to hear I should trade for "league value" and not for stats. Best way of determining league value? Getting the opinion of GMs who covet the player I'm landing.

See, for me, I don't trade for value around the league. I trade to improve my team.

You improve your team by gaining value though, tough to keep improving if you have a team full of guys no one will pay fair value for ha. Value doesn't matter if everyone performs like they should and you don't make trades but I'd say that rarely if ever happens.

Well, that's why when I target guys I make sure they are young with boatloads of potential. Players like that are always going to hold value. So I guess maybe I do it subconsciously? :)

League value is overrated.

There is always a GM willing to pay market value to any player. You just have to be proactive and find that GM.

Being proactive is likely the best advice anyone could give to a new GM or a GM who is struggling to improve their team.

The only time I really get anything done trade wise is when I get my fingers busy and start working the MSN lines like a fiend.
