Don't forget about his grade 8 tutor fees.
Hope he isn't paying him a lot based off the results.

Hall seems like a nice kid, but missing a 2gb RAM.

Not gonna lie, I think Mike destroys this trade.

if he was 33 with injury issues, I'd be worried.

Taylor hall is only 20

Hall being 20 is my worry. He has had 2 seasons and the most games he's played is 65. Already garnering an injury-prone label.

Gonna have to wait and see.

Regardless of Hall's injury history, I think Kyle's aware that he's not a contender yet -- he can afford to take on the high upside and potentially even maximize Bernier's value.

Mike had to pay because he was held hostage on a player contributing little to nothing in the NHL or the BBKL, but a backup goalie has true value to one team and one team only: the one with his starter. Basically insurance in case of an injury, getting an average number of goalie games each week is crucial to being a top flight team. So although the price for Mike is extremely steep and excessive IMO, it made his team stronger.

Taylor Hall's injuries are greatly over-blown and quiet definitely of the 'freak' status. He's not getting hurt by the hits he takes, or the cheap shots on him, he's getting hurt by a teammate stepping on his face, by a twisted ankle in a fall during a fight (that he took on at 18/19). Yes he has had his shoulder worked on - but he also played through it for 3+ years to 'some' success, not something to worry about.

Mike wasn't been held hostage in the least.

Get your facts straight.

I wouldn't say he was held hostage at all. We were pretty much both on the same page, waiting and hoping for a trade. Guess we both finally caved.

He's upset because we're having a disagreement on his backups value at the moment lol...he's mad at me; not you.

I don't like it when people are mad at me. At the moment, I'm pretty sure Shiv is plotting a murder/suicide.

Get your facts straight.
a 16 gp , 5 win goalie with a sub .91 sv% and an absolutely elite starter in front of him (who is signed for millennia) was just the main piece in a deal for Taylor Hall.

IMO thats a ransom, and occurs when a player is held hostage.

Not hating on you for it, but I do have an opinion on it.

I wish there was a different way for us to do goalies, that didn't place such a need on having the tandem, however many of us have pulled out our hair trying to think of a way, and there doesn't appear to be one that doesn't make more (and bigger) issues then what it improves. So Bernier had big value to whomever owned Quick - being Mike.

BTW - not saying you should have given him to Mike, or that there is any rules changes coming to effect anything in the sort, in any way. But (once again, just my opinion) Taylor Hall for Jon Bernier is a ransom.

note: Not mad at Chuck or Kyle in any way ( lots of posts while i typed this)

I hate the POS, perhaps that's where my view on the deal truly originates.

If that's how you feel about the trade, it's OK. My post was a bit of an overreaction.

It's always more fun when people see things differently anyways.

How a lot of big trades happen I think, assuming the disagreement in value is in equal but opposite direction!
