We have to consider travel too, not fair having a team on the West coast play a team on the East coast in round 1, all the extra travel will be unfair and tiring.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONThough the teams are all very different so we can easily afford to play around with playoff matchups to make them more entertaining for us. Weve always been a league thats prided themselves on following NHL guidelines (as long as feasible). I see no reason to change now.
BBKL Playoff Format (Nominations)

Re: BBKL Playoff Format (Nominations)
This. I prefer 332 then rearrange the matchupMatthew wroteCOLONWould like divisional 3 + 3 + 2 wildcards to get into the playoffs.
But then do a 1-8 conference ranking with divisional winners getting 1 and 2 for first round playoff matchups, instead of the stupid current nhl divisional setups where The 3nd best team in a conference may be playing the 4th best instead of the 6th best, etc.
This keeps regular season divisions important and fun to get into the playoffs, but means their is more shuffling for playoff positions in the conference.
Or just do 1-8 for getting in too. Whatever.

Essentially this is a top 3 from each division, plus the highest 2 after that in each conference, then seeding based on points after the division winners claimed 1 and 2? sign me up
Re: BBKL Playoff Format (Nominations)
Where's the option to reseed based on fantrax score?
Re: BBKL Playoff Format (Nominations)
I guess we should put up a poll...

Re: BBKL Playoff Format (Nominations)
Yup. Correct me if I'm missing any of the nominations.
1. Use the existing format (top 3 in each division, 2 wild cards in each conference; divisional playoff format)
2. Top 3 in each division, 2 wild cards but seed the teams 1-8 in each conference
3. Top 8 in each conference

Seed 1-16. Screw the NHL. Let's have some fun here and make every playoff interesting.

We can throw that in the voting...I figure there's only so many options we could have.

We can probably apply that to option 2 and 3.

I like this. Let's do the 4 options.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONSeed 1-16. Screw the NHL. Let's have some fun here and make every playoff interesting.
