lol, if yak was actually living up to expectations, he would never be let go for filppula. And I believe he's nowhere near similar to kovalchuk just yet, Kovy left well into his late 20's at least, so I hope I can get 5 yrs out of yak

I may have had a shot at him but traded VAN 1st for Coliacovo (sp?) last year when he was playing awesome for DET. Who knew Kareem would suck two years in a row. Going to regret that trade lol for a while.

I think paul landed the best player long term

Like it for Paul, but makes sense for all.

Yak is a 20 year old 1st overall pick who oozes skill and potential. It's not his fault EDM is terrible and his coach hasn't put him in a role to succeed offensively. Good sell high on Filppula who is limited in what he does and I expect his numbers will drop slightly across the board when Stamkos takes back the #1C role. Nick gets better this season with a team that has a chance to win it all and Shiv turns an injured player into 2 good active Cs that will help his depth.
