How is Beleskey rumored to be getting 5+ million, when:

He put up 32 points in 65 games.

And Arcobello, who has a 1.1 million contract put up 31 points in 77 games, while having to play for 4 different teams, and it being his first full season in the NHL.

That contract is a great one by the leafs.

15pts in 50 games to start the year with most of them coming on a bad Oilers team and then someone had to get points and PP time on the tanking Coyotes. Good depth signing for the Leafs, but if you view him as a top 6 NHL player you are probably alone in that.

oh fuck yes....Reilly smith had a brutal contract. Hes gifted offensively and can run a PP but hes soft and loses puck battles. Bruins are going to be a completely different team. Quite an interesting offseason to say the least. Has a GM come in and made such a giant splash in such a short period?

Yeah, 30 points in a players first full nhl season I do like. He was putting up 2 pts/gm before getting the call up to the oilers in the ahl. He was leading the coyotoes in points per game once traded there. He also put up 20 points in 40 games the last season. And he has some great possession numbers. He is a talented small player out of college that hadn't been given much of a chance like many undersized players. He is getting that chance and I hope he can seize it.

I'm not saying arcobello should get more than 2 million. I'm saying the gap between beleskey and him shouldn't be 4 million, especially since beleskey is just putting up his first 30 pt season after already being in the league a few yrs.

Strange that he turned down 4X4 from the Ducks reportedly. Not a terrible contract for a UFA at all.

I was upset at the Hamilton deal but i challenge you on your opinion of ruining a team when you consider what he came into and what he had to work with. Chiarelli made some huge mistakes and terrible signings in the end. I am starting to believe in CamSweeney. The moves are interesting thats for sure. I guess time will tell. How has he ruined the team, what should he have done? I guess you also think Reilly Smith is worth 3 mil per and Lucic deserves 6 mil or more? Beleskey comes in a shade under 4 mil per. Totally different team now. I like up front but id like to see a solid d-man added.
