Probably not the best move to tip your hand on who you were picking but I think most would've taken Hughes at 8. There's still some pretty good names at this spot though.

Funny that you even acknowledged the time in this post too.

Honestly, when I saw Matthew mention 9am I was confused - thought he just had his math off haha.

Yeah my offer to Dave was sent well before the above post made by Da Hawks, I was already pretty sure Hughes would have not lasted till pick #10.

Unfortunate timing btw, Dave's reply and pick #6 and #7 arrived soon after I fell asleep, so things got delayed

TIL - we have a forum clock (never noticed).

Sorry for the confusion everyone. Lessons learned.

For the DST function - do we need to turn it on/off every time it changes, or once we have it turned on it does the switch for us?

Forum time will goof me up when I'm cataloging all our trades. I'll work on updating trades around the time changes and that screws up all my stuff. The only reason I worry about the time with trades because an asset can move more than once in a day and I just want things list sequentially.

1. Hughes - Yes
2. Kakko - Yes
3. Turcotte - Yes
4. Byram - Yes
5. Dach - Yes
6. Cozens - Yes
7. Zegras - Yes
8. Krebs - Yes
9. Seider - Yes
10. Podkolzin - Yes
11. Boldy - Yes
12. Kaliyev - No
13. Soderstrom - Yes
14. Knight - Yes
15. Caufield - Yes
16. Newhook - Yes
17. Broberg - No
18. York - Yes
19. Suzuki - No
20. Tomasino - Yes
21. Harley - No
22. Heinola - Yes
23. Lavoie - No
24. Brink - Yes
25. Dorofeyev - No
26. Bjornfot - No
27. Poulin - No
28. Johnson - No
29. Robertson - No
30. Kolyachonok - No
31. Hoglander - Yes

- So 15 of the first 16 bbkl picks
- 19 of the first 24
- and 20 of 31 overall in our 1st round

2021 is probably pretty easily the worst draft class since I've been in bbkl.
This projects to be a really entertaining post to look back at in a few years

Like I said, some I'll be right about, some I'll be wrong. If any of us were smart enough to be 100% right about something like this we would be millionaires.

That said, I don't really see anyone else here with the balls to say something like this or have the balls to stand by it.

I'll be tracking that. Wanna put cash money on it?
What would be the bet?
We could do something like $5 USD for each season. $5 to you if Brink puts up more NHL points than Beniers, $5 to me if the opposite is true. Bet runs until both players retire or one suffers a career-ending injury.
With a minimum gp stipulation per season say something reasonable around like 60 in a full season I'd happily take this bet.

So if Brinks plays 0 games, you don't have to pay up?

Good pick of Guenther...gives you potentially another goal scorer to go with Stutzle.

That sounds like your confidence is slipping a bit. Games played are a big part of why a player is better than the other to begin with. If Beniers only plays 15 games and Brink plays 75, wouldn't you want to win that year? Or if Brink plays 20 and Beniers doesn't play at all? With a 60 games min, if Brink never made it to the NHL at all, this bet would never pay out. Come on, man.

Thanks. Was going Guenther or off the board with Svechkov or Sillinger (don't like Kent Johnson). My prospect pool is bereft of talented Centers. Hard to pass up BPA though and Bobby Mac had him tied for 2nd in his last rankings so can't turn him down at 9th I suppose.

Would have traded the pick for Bobby Brink though. Such a stud.

I had him as a toss up with Eklund, and nearly took him at 5. I'll likely have both in the top 5 of my final draft ranking.

I'm picking 6th in ADHL...spoiler alert, all of the names in our top 9 are basically the guys I'm targeting with my pick. That's a decent spot to be where you just let 5 names come off and there's still a good name available at #6.

I was tossing around 3 names. I probably picked the wrong one again.
