Matthews is a centre and he's what the leafs need. If we are talking pure offense i think Laine is better. However Matthews seems to have a far better 200' game.

Agree with Steve, but Kane put up those numbers without Toews this year for the most part... I guess you could argue the other teams shutdown line would play vs Toews but I gotta imagine they were going against Kane's line this year (without having watched any of their games).

Perfect stage for Matthews...on a Saturday when a lot of people can catch that semifinal game. The Americans have pretty much been a 1-line team. Larkin has been fantastic playing with Matthews and Nick Foligno.

See Laine's post-game interview? How can you not like the guy... definitely a fan (if I didn't make that clear already). Laine + Ehlers are gonna be sweet together.
