It's this mindset from the casual fans and our management that has kept us in a cycle of perpetual awfulness.

Myself, I've been ready for a complete rebuild since McCabe signed that massive contract. It's one of the reasons the kessel trade hurts me so much since it was the PERFECT time to rebuild..

The fans only word in the organization is our wallets. Not selling out games is a clear indication of how critical we are. Management is listening. Shanaban legitimately looks like he wants to be a difference maker in Toronto.

If we rebuild, are the seats going to fill up? I don't think so which in turn makes me think there will be no real rebuild here.

If we rebuild and have a winning team, the seats will absolutely fill up. The seats will be full again next year, in a rebuild year.

There's nothing that Shannahan has done that doesn't indicate that he's in for a real rebuild.

I hope so!

I just see us losing lots next year (hopefully bottom 5) and I don't know if people will show up to watch. If kessel and Dion are still around I know I won't tune in thaaat much.

I'll believe it when I see it. This is the leafs we are talking about after all.

Everything is relative.

IMO both Kessel and Dion are gone same goes with Bozak and lups and if there was a great offer on the table JVR would be gone as well

Yeah if we won the lottery, Kessel could stay, but Strome or Marner probably won't be the franchise saving center we are hoping for.

Dion is whatever. Indifferent about him coming or going.

this core as a group did not get it done how many years in a row…. they have major leadership issues IMO….. I like Dion a lot but he's not a number one D man and he's over paid by about 1 million a year… as a die hard leafs fan Im ready for a total re build… the only player who I wouldn't trade is Morgan

Maybe if they strip him of the C and play him 20 a game as a 3rd or 4th D. He is not top pairing material as his foot speed and agility are mindblowingly bad. That's not even mentioning what seems to be a very low hockey IQ

look at what teams like ANA does. ur right. as much as I hate to admit it, kyuss' euro brigade of guys are ones ANA owns for success (vatanen/lindholm/karlsson). thick headed north american managementship often shy away from "just talent but no toughness" type players because they dont think they transition into NHL style well. hmph... i scoff now times have changed... utilization is key

handful of NA players are talented and tough at the same time. theyre worth a lot. it's one thing to own talented players under your wing but utlizing them for success like teams like ANA does it such a treat to watch. leafs fail with "chemistry" yearly even Kessel/Bozak/JvR chemistry didnt last longer than a year on a consistent basis.
