What do we do with players who are replacing LTIR players if we want to send them down? Do they have to stay up until the injured player returns?

I have Joe Callahan replacing Ohlund and I want to send Callahan down ... can I do this? Does he need to clear waivers? (like I worried!) Can I just switch players? Maybe I overlooked these rules ... I'm friggin' tired.

Thanks

If you named him the LTIR call-up you get a free waive move each way with him...however if the special exemption was not used, then he would require waives up &/or down. You can make changes to LTIR exemptions, just within normal waiver rules (this is aside from the 1 exemption).
