Lol...what's with all the asian invites from Anyang Halla of the AL (Asian League)???

Jinwhi Ahn (invited to 2 teams)
Wonjun Kim (invited to 2 teams)
Yuri Terao

Are they expecting these league to start breaking into the NHL soon, and want to grab the first future superstar?

lol

not like that proves anything moving forward though.. NHL teams don't necesarily draft better than BBKL teams!

btw, I wonder about Novak at 85.. did the guy spit in the face of GMs during his interviews or something?

Was a rough first draft for me. Added 2 soon to be NHLers with a trade so not a total loss. Tells me I need to do better research for next years draft and actually be home for it.

Considering the odds of most 5th, 6th and 7th of actually making the NHL...if you draft a guy in our league and they don't even get drafted, then you kind of know their fate right away. Unless you're strapped to roster space, you can always hang onto the guys for a year or two and see what happens with them.

Well, drafted Dea a couple years ago and he went undrafted. He was a camp invite to PIT and signed a contract, so who knows...

I said kind of.

If you have the roster space...I still hang onto guys that don't get drafted. I was patient with Colby Cave getting passed up in two drafts and then signed an ELC with Boston this spring.

Other than my 2 undrafted's and the 2014's the rest of my guys were all within 30 picks plus or minus. Pleased with the result.

2:41 -- Brandon Carlo (drafted 2nd Round / 37th Overall by BOS)
3:82 -- Adam Musil (drafted 4th Round / 94th Overall by STL)

4:104 -- Ryan Larkin (undrafted)
4:111 -- Pavel Karnaukhov (drafted 5th Round / 136th Overall by CGY)
4:116 -- Pius Suter (undrafted)
5:128 -- Caleb Jones (drafted 4th Round / 117th Overall by EDM)
6:152 -- Cameron Askew (undrafted)

I can live with undrafted guys but it does sting to miss on two 4th round picks. Suter was a gamble because he did sign a deal with a team in Europe before the draft. That's why I took him with my third 4th rounder. I'm happy with Carlo going to Boston and he emerges as one of their top defense prospects right away. Jones was a wild card pick in the 5th round and hopefully he can emerge and make up for my 4th round gaffes.
