1. Can easily drop a waiver exempt player to make roommr. bruin wroteCOLONI apologize for this and if i am wrong correct me, but The Bruins would like to claim d-man Doug Janik. He is a waiver eligible player and based on the information available via CBS and Washington's team pages, the Capitals only have $107,393.00 in salary cap space, therefore making claiming Janik, an illegal roster move. I am desperate and had to do it. If I am wrong please correct me.
If that is the case I can easily drop a waiver exempt player to make room.facey wroteCOLONno... you must have room at the time of the claim.
"2-7 : Once a player is put on waivers, that player must be subject to waiver wire for twenty-four (24) hours. At which time any GM with required cap and roster space may sign."facey wroteCOLONno... you must have room at the time of the claim.
Janik was an FA, not on waivers..kyuss wroteCOLON"2-7 : Once a player is put on waivers, that player must be subject to waiver wire for twenty-four (24) hours. At which time any GM with required cap and roster space may sign."facey wroteCOLONno... you must have room at the time of the claim.
mmh.. seems so.. but how can a GM placing a claim know whether or not his claim will be successful?
are we really forced to make cap AND roster room any time we place a claim?
for example, when i placed a claim on Lundmark i think i had the cap room, but not the roster room; i made room for him only once my claim was successful, i seem to remember there was a short window available afterwards, like 12 hrs.
Was that amended with the official CBA release?
ahh, my bad.Raptactics wroteCOLONJanik was an FA, not on waivers..kyuss wroteCOLON"2-7 : Once a player is put on waivers, that player must be subject to waiver wire for twenty-four (24) hours. may i make cap and roster room AFTER my claim turned out to be successful or not? this is the point....Raptactics wroteCOLONYou must make the roster space and cap room in the meantime.. no sense in making the claim if you cannot afford the player or have the roster spot..
Parenteau to minors (waiver exempt) boom, room made...Raptactics wroteCOLONYou must make the roster space and cap room in the meantime.. no sense in making the claim if you cannot afford the player or have the roster spot..
Mike, Mash, and myself are talking this issue over..MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONParenteau to minors (waiver exempt) boom, room made...Raptactics wroteCOLONYou must make the roster space and cap room in the meantime.. no sense in making the claim if you cannot afford the player or have the roster spot..
No, you must prior (FA claim) to or during the claims wait period (waivers)kyuss wroteCOLONmay i make cap and roster room AFTER my claim turned out to be successful or not? this is the point....Raptactics wroteCOLONYou must make the roster space and cap room in the meantime.. no sense in making the claim if you cannot afford the player or have the roster spot..
i.e. the 12 hrs period was removed, correct?Raptactics wroteCOLONNo, you must prior (FA claim) to or during the claims wait period (waivers)kyuss wroteCOLONmay i make cap and roster room AFTER my claim turned out to be successful or not? this is the point....Raptactics wroteCOLONYou must make the roster space and cap room in the meantime.. no sense in making the claim if you cannot afford the player or have the roster spot..

i can see the cap thing, but why the need to make room in the roster before getting the player?
