Bruyns wroteCOLONWhy did you bench Ward though? That's the issue and has nothing to do with Khudobin playing. Fraser's suggestion works well since in Mik's case it was obvious he was trying to win and not tank. In Lee's case it is near impossible to argue that benching Ward wasn't done in an attempt to lose.

I also am on Lee's side that it was smart and the correct roster move at the time since there was no rule against it. Now there is so move on, but we aren't for some reason.
See post above.

I met GP and was doing what was best for my team within the confines of the rules. The rules were changed and I didn't mention it again until Mik decided to dress one goalie.

You purposefully dressed a goalie who wouldn't play so that you could lose all goalie stats (talking bout last season more so then this)

Pretty simple.
dave1959 wroteCOLON I'm pretty sure playing Khudobin instead of Ward is not blatant tanking...come on now.

Khudobin played 41% of Carolina's games....
Pretty sure I mentioned I was talking bout last season more so than this season. You know, when you owned fleury and benched him once u reached GGP.

Yes, I benched him. I met the requirements on the season. Change GGP if you are going to change anything. I shouldn't be punished for doing what is best for my team within the confines of the rules.
So you admit to purposefully tanking. Ty.

Observant, aren't you. I mentioned that pages ago.

Kinda hard to tank when your goalie puts up a sub 1 gaa and a .950 sv% that week and plays in almost half of your teams games through the whole season. Khudo was playing more than Ward down the stretch.

I don't see how you can argue that a guy who played 1 game in the month prior gives you a chance to win more than last years Vezina winner.

I've said all of this before. All is fact.

Lee the rule is anti-tanking. it's the same for everyone. you wanting to remove context doesn't make your argument correct.

Can you honestly sit there and say you dressed the best lineup to win?

Can you honestly sit there and say Mik wasn't trying to win his playoff round?

No. So you're just causing shit and making this notably less fun. Be a big boy and move on. Or at least don't be surprised when you're on a tone of ignore lists.

Others have openly said they've intentionally dressed worse line ups to lost and not a peep is said to them.

I wasn't trying to win. Big surprise there.

Ignore lists? Honestly, if you are fine with having different sets of rules for different people, ignore me. I won't lose any sleep at night over it.

Since it has been a point of such heightened controversy. I think we should have a vote on the intentional worsening of lineups rule. Whether GP should be the only concern while icing any compliant lineup saw fit. Or if the manager is obligated to ice what they see as their best lineup despite GP. If we vote on it, we can put this one to bed.

My input:

Please explore the possibility of having a set number of midweek emergency injury callups during playoffs.

I'm beginning to believe Lee is just trolling all of us. And that he is good at it.

Alright new topic for discussion.

Making official penalties for being over/under the salary cap. What do you say?

Has never really been an issue, not sure we need a rule change.

Punishment for said infraction already is a warning as part of our 3 warning system before a boot

I haven't been here long enough to see this really come up. Have there been non-compliant teams in the past? How was it handled?

Personally I like the idea of having penalties known, and out in the open. It reduces the controversies when someone breaks a rule, and doesn;t leave anyone feeling that they have been cheated if its right out there for everyone to see from the start
