I don't know where to put this, but I just wanted to say that Doughty's signing on the night before roster submission makes Mr. Cliff one lucky bastard.
I know everyone is loving Shanny as the new head of player safety aka discipline, however to say it's now consistent or obvious is drinking the special punch IMO.
And this is the exact same circumstance as the first example, but not suspension worthy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qtd-jxI ... re=related
- Guy being hit isn't an NHLer and doesn't throw his arms up... he's also not a Red Wing.
Almost as bad, I have no clue how this is a suspension, Colborne with the puck head down, and I see him move right before the hit, which I think Boyes tried for full body contact http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1azAb8RHHUw
As Shook pointed out...Malone didn't get suspended, his BF is the GM of that club, Long time GM Holland obvious ties. I actually like/accept the explanation of the Malone non-suspension. It's not that campoli was bent over as the excuse for non-suspension, it's that he bent over JUST before the hit, AFTER malone had lined up for it.
I appreciate the videos, but the calls still don't feel consistent to me.
Also Nick, I agree the inconsistency is worrying. But I don't think it's fair to accuse Shanahan of having something to lose by punishing players under the stead of his friend's teams.
Nick wroteCOLONplease open the CBA and read the qualifications for Type A and B bonuses for ELC's. If you do not have a copy i can email you one.
If we know the clause, they we know when they've hit or missed a bonus.
I do have the link to the CBA. What I don't think you understand is the immensity of that particular bonus and how unimportant it was for Schenn to sign off on that. Perhaps our minds work differently, but I suspect you might be thinking one dimensionally again.
Do you believe that Brayden Schenn was the only player (on ELC in particular) who has had a large portion of his potential bonuses based on achieving X over 82 games?

Do you believe that most prospects sign off a bonus that requires them to play all 82 games + 25 minutes per game?
