Heatley, Belanger, Kuzmetsov, O'Brien, 1st, 2nd, 4th or something.
Big win for Topher, that much is for sure.

Re: St Louis/ Nashville/ Buffalo
lol this thread is amusing.
I need to point out some of the BS thrown out here..
On top of that, i couldn't even make that deal for cap reasons anyway.. i would have needed it to be a 3-way deal with someone else taking Lidstrom.
Plus, for Ruutu i was already in advanced talks with another GM, who replied to have zero interest in Lidstrom.
You were well aware of all of this.
The offer i rejected was Eriksson for Koivu.
Your theory sounds particular wrong when you think in the past i offered Ruutu+ for Eriksson to Anaheim, lol.
The only thing that could have happened was me not being able to agree on such swap because Ruutu was already almost traded in another deal that had precedence for me. But again, i don't remember that to have happened either.
Just sounds like people making things up out of frustration.. for not getting "a 3rd liner i was overrating like crazy", no less.
btw, i feel like few would argue with my deal if it was a top 5 2011 pick coming back (alongside O'brien and Rob) instead of kuznetsov, which i find funny.
On a side note..
it was a big 3-way deal, and when just at the end of the negotiation i was needed to change my offer to make it work, i didn't feel like being an ass and taking advantage of that.. shep and topher were fair to me in the past so i didn't feel like shattering the whole thing to get a better return. After all, everyone still got what was looking for as it is.
To add on that, Cliff rejected a deal centered around Ruutu and Kuznetsov in the past. This one for sure isn't worse for my team than what was rejected back then.
going back to when i acquired Ruutu,
i basically got
Kuznetsov, Omark, O'brien, Slater, Niedermayer, DAL's 3rd entry 2012 + CAR's 2nd entry 2013
out of
Niklas Hagman + Kris Russell + Ales Kotalik + Teemu Laakso
i'm really happy with that and i think that's just what my team needed moving forward.

as far as i can remember, Lidstrom actually was the meat of the offer. Unless you're saying Ross was.The Devil wroteCOLON Lidstrom was merely for salary purposes.. he was hardly the meat of the offer.

I can respect that. On a side note, I'm a big believer in Kuznetsov, not so much in Ruutu, love this deal for you.kyuss wroteCOLONOn a side note..

I guess H2H stats mean nothing when comparing to a player to a prospect.

Not when the prospect has star upside, and the player is completely dependent on the stat scorers in Carolina for his production...Snipeshow wroteCOLONI guess H2H stats mean nothing when comparing to a player to a prospect.

I didn't even move Kuznetsov so it's not even like you offended my trade.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNot when the prospect has star upside, and the player is completely dependent on the stat scorers in Carolina for his production...Snipeshow wroteCOLONI guess H2H stats mean nothing when comparing to a player to a prospect.
200+ hits and 40+ points and 50 games into the season. Can't say I agree with you there.

Nor was I trying to offend your trade, that doesn't change that Kuznetsov has a high ceiling. Ruutu isn't someone I'd bank on past this season.Snipeshow wroteCOLONI didn't even move Kuznetsov so it's not even like you offended my trade.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNot when the prospect has star upside, and the player is completely dependent on the stat scorers in Carolina for his production...Snipeshow wroteCOLONI guess H2H stats mean nothing when comparing to a player to a prospect.

Re: St Louis/ Nashville/ Buffalo
Meh, he's been a solid H2H contributor for the last few years. He's been good for 50 points this year and each of the past 2 season's (prorated). For 3.8mil he brings 50pts and 250+ hits. I can live with that.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNor was I trying to offend your trade, that doesn't change that Kuznetsov has a high ceiling. I think there are no doubts Ruutu is a great contributor for the BBKL as long as he stays healthy.
What i think of Kuznetsov (and, to a lesser extent, Koivu's salary for next year) is what still makes it worth for me.
