Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I think Ottawa did a good job here. I can't see them getting more really.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I think Dorion is hoping that CBJ busts hard next year once they lose Panarin and Bob. Maybe Ottawa gets that top 5 pick back if Duchene re-signs and CBJ sucks. It could happen.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Sens fleeced CLB whether they resign him or not. Abramov and Davidson are two legit prospects plus a first on top for just a rental. And if CLB resigns him a second first on top is still a win. Shocked Dorion could pull this off cause he's pretty inept
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
even trying to forget the nightmare cycle this is another bad looking deal for the Sens. Like with Karlsson, it feels they're only getting a bunch of fringe players and they hope to get lucky.
Abramov is talented but for the type of player he is, his numbers are underwhelming. Davidsson has progressed enough along the last 2 seasons to have a chance to be yet another fringe NHLer they already have plenty of. Chances Duchene is going to sign in CLB are minimal so basically the most likely scenario is the 2019 1st is the only significant piece of the deal.
Pretty sure they got better options on the table and failed to recognize that

Not a fan of the CLB prospects going back - at least their upside is limited - abramov maybe a 2nd liner if things start actually developing , and the other one sounds like he’d peak as a 3rd liner

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
If the Sens are going to sell off their UFAs...flood the zone with picks and prospects and hope any of it works. Can't undo what's going on with their pick this year. Those guys probably wouldn't have re-signed so they'd be foolish to hang onto them. The only value they could had to them is to make that pick not as valuable to the Avalanche.
The other part of this is Columbus...they're making a bold choice themselves. They could still win the Metro but they could also fall out of the playoffs. They can probably ride it out with Panarin and Bob and maybe at the draft flip them for something...especially if they want to go somewhere as a package deal. You won't get full value but you might as well do what you can while you have them. We'll find out by Monday if this is the team they'll ride with into the spring.
Happy to see the Wings realize where they are in the standings and are going to move their UFAs. Jensen was the first piece...got a decent return for him. Sounds like they want to move Howard and Nyquist...reports are that they won't sign by Monday. If someone like Panarin is off the market, it'll be a good market for teams that want to sell their wingers. Not sure of the market for Howard though.

Duchenne wasn’t going to resign in Ottawa so I think the return is more than adequate. Wasn’t gonna get a better deal elsewhere. At least got some return for the first deal for duchenne.kyuss wroteCOLONeven trying to forget the nightmare cycle this is another bad looking deal for the Sens. Zadina debuts for the Wings tomorrow along with Bowey...not a fan of the losing but excited to see some new faces on the team.

They'll own all of Columbus's higher picks at this rate if Duchene re-signs lolkyuss wroteCOLONSens collecting Columbus' leftovers. Anything left for Stone?
