Re: BUF-DAL
Confirmed
Salary caps suck, probably needed to shed 6M to fit the raises my players are getting and not many teams could offer high end futures and take on big salary. Tried to move other players and found out it was unlikely I would get anything close to what I consider fair value. I prefer prospects to picks and hope Strome becomes #1C in ARI, Fabbri keeps up what he is doing in the playoffs where he is 2nd in scoring with 10pts in 13GP and Pouliot becomes the D he has the potential to be.

Hot. Fire.
Re: BUF-DAL
Also why on gods green earth didn't you make a block if Crosby was available. Like most of us would have just assumed that wasn't an option.
Re: BUF-DAL
I'm a fan of Dylan Strome.
And Fabbri is good.
And I easily take Dallas' side of this deal.

Re: BUF-DAL
I know I lose pretty bad this season too, but I doubt I could get a better return and shed 5M+ and was dealing from a position of strength where I now have Getzlaf - MacKinnon - Kadri - Plekanec - Strome
I did make a block too and it was bumped recently with Crosby listed both times

Anyone who thinks it's a terrible trade feel free to make an offer you feel is better that has me shedding 5M in cap. Unfortunately the market is what it is and Crosby was the piece that could return me the most value.Bruyns wroteCOLONLupul and Benn gone, but still could use a few more million in cap space.
MacKinnon
Crosby
Hall
Getzlaf
Plekanec
Markov
Savard
Kane
Perreault
Open to ideas, but not looking to get raped to save cap. Looking for a deal that benefits both parties, willing to downgrade and gain picks/prospects. Any of my Cs require a C in return.
Re: BUF-DAL
Something like
Ryan Strome + Trouba + plus one of my top 10 2017 picks. Hell maybe even both. Its bloody Crosby.

Re: BUF-DAL
I don't think its terrible. But I think you could've explored more. I know I would've gotten heavily involved if I had known he was a potential trade target especially before my flurry of moves yesterday.
Re: BUF-DAL
Trouba is looking at a nice raise so would need to make another deal and Dylan >> Ryan I hope. If that's a serious offer with both picks then get Will to trade him to you since I'm pretty sure that return fits his team build better.Fraser wroteCOLONSomething like

Could have made a single block on him sure, but considering there was pretty much no market for Getzlaf who is close in age and .5M cheaper and he didn't want to add a 1st to Dubi for him I didn't think you were in the market for 8M+ Cs and I did have him on my block for a while. Actually got 0 PMs about him, people were more interested in Kane and MacKinnon and Kadri who wasn't even on my block. I realize Crosby is the best player in the NHL but in BBKL his impact isn't that much bigger than Getzlaf recently.

Re: BUF-DAL
i should have replied to you earlier Matt.
That is my fault. Not sure I had the cap friendly pieces you wanted like Strome and Fabbri though

Re: BUF-DAL
If he's interested id have to do a bit more of an evaluation cap wise etc to make it a firm offer. But yea. Good chance if he be interested.
Re: BUF-DAL
I would have been looking for Zibanejad/Galchenyuk + Wilson + Dvorak+ from you most likely.thom54 wroteCOLONi should have replied to you earlier Matt.

Re: BUF-DAL
If Getz is still on the table I think we could find something there.
Re: BUF-DAL
Going to wait for some of my FAs to sign now to see how I am looking for cap. I thought Dubi + NYR 1st/Tryamkin/Hudon/Pulock was more than fair if you would have kept negotiating we probably would have had a deal and then I would have sold off Perreault to Mik and kept Crosby.Fraser wroteCOLONIf Getz is still on the table I think we could find something there.

Nothing that hasn't been said already. Huge win for Dal, but the market is shit right now for cutting a ton of cap.
