2015 Entry Draft eligibility

All bbkl-free players (i.e. players not owned by any BBKL team) born between January 1st 1995 and September 15th 1997 are eligible for selection in the 2015 BBKL Entry Draft.
Additionally, bbkl-free players born in 1994 that have not played in N.A. when 18,19 or 20yrs old are eligible as well*.
All other bbkl-free players are eligible for the waiver draft instead.

Please everyone note that:
- older Euro players that may still be eligible for the NHL Entry draft and re-enter it are not eligible for the bbkl Entry draft, even if our outdated CBA may suggest otherwise (see the Andersen case last year)
- BBKL Entry draft eligibility is not affected by the fact the prospect may already be signed or not by a NHL team

* odd case as an example:
Player born in '94 , non north american , hasn't played a game in North America. Over seas season ends, comes over, plays a game in the AHL:
if that game in AHL comes after he turned 21, he is eligible for the 2015 Entry Draft, otherwise he is not and gets reserved for the Waiver draft instead.


2015 Entry Draft proceedings

12 hrs available for each pick in rounds 1-3
8 hrs available for each pick in rounds 4-7
If you miss your selection it becomes pick at any time within the next 30 selections, after that the pick is gone. If the latter occurs in the first 3 rounds GM receives a warning.
Selecting an already owned player results in a pre-warning, and your selection becomes pick at any time within the next 30 selections (after that the pick is gone), if that occurs twice in the first 3 rounds GM receives a warning.

First off I'd like to say hello and thank you to our rabid fan base back home in Montreal. Our organization would like to extend a congratulations to the Toronto Maple Leafs on their Stanley Cup victory last month. It was certainly a long time coming for Mike and his team.

We are looking forward to another competitive next year and believe that the young lad we are about to draft will help propel us to our goal of our first Cup since 1993-94.

The 3rd easiest pick of the draft, the Tampa Bay Lightning are ecstatic to draft, 9th overall, from the Kingston Frontenacs in the OHL, Lawson Crouse.

First off I'd like to thank the Detroit and Nashville General Managers for the all of the work they have done ensuring this drafting process goes as smoothly as possible. I will also extend my congratulations to the 2015 BBKL Champions in Toronto.

While we will never enter a season in Vancouver without the clear goal of making the playoffs, at a certain point it became clear that mediocrity was the best our core could achieve here, and without aggressive action we would wither. So we took an aggressive stance to re-tool on the fly, re-acquiring our 1st round draft pick that was traded by a past General Manager, and making a series of deals that should allow this team to be more competitive going forward.

With the decisions made we were unable to reach our goal of making the playoffs. But since the onset of this line of decision making, there was one player we had circled in Vancouver, a player we saw being a key piece of this great cities first championship team. And today we get the privilege of selecting that player.

Born and raised in Coquitlam British Columbia, the Vancouver Canucks are proud to select from the Seattle Thunderbirds Mathew Barzal.
