either way, lots of guys have opinions which is fine, we live in a free country, but at the end of the day this was the best offer, and a few of us who have been involved with the process all agreed on it. If Yak ends up playing with McDavid (which i think will happen) he could turn into a 40G guy, and get a ton of free assists off McDavid. In the end they could potieitnally have similar point totals.

What's the rush? Mcdavid isn't all of a sudden gonna lose all his value in the next year.

8 solid pieces increases the odds that at least 1-2 of them wind up being a major hit. There is a good chance we look back on this in a few years and go wow Willie really fleeced Mike on this one. If McDavid winds up being the best player in the NHL though I don't think he will mind much though lol!

If this happens I'll happily eat crow. As of today mike rapes this. He traded a bunch of stuff from his bench/minors for mcdavid. Pretty solid for him.

So you trade the best predraft asset since Crosby and trade him for a bunch of Meh?

Pretty sure he had other pieces he could have used to get gp while either saving MCD or selling him for primo assets.

Is there a chance all 3 1sts bust? Sure there is but when you are as far behind other teams as DAL was its worth the risk to hope the 3 prospects and 3 picks turn into quality players since that can turn his franchise around. I also view Krug and Yak as quality pieces and that put the offer ahead of Nicks and Josh's that also included great futures.

All the hypotheticals of you should have demanded Ott 1st or Benn or better players etc. don't matter since Mike wasn't going to do that and made a strong offer and was standing by it. Mike added from his original offer which was significantly less, if DAL wanted to move him for the best package while the hype was huge and Mike wasn't adding and no one was offering more he had to make a decision and he did.

K i kno bro lol i made a semi joke offer too. It's just a matter of figuring out 'why' it is that mcdavid had to be sold now l... Some i read here speculate mcd won't make immediate impact but have u guys been around nhl in 2005? Pittsburgh was a fucktard horrible team and crosby came in 104 pt rookie season. By now people know mcd is basically equal to sid in skill sets. What impact he'd make in edm isnt guaranteed but anyone in Williams position,.... ESPECIALLY In his poor position shud consider selling such asset carefully?. 2 months isnt a long time either when we have handful of inactive ppl. Why not wait til Sept when we see mcd in action in practice/season? Why not perhaps aggressively ask for assets himself rather than passively getting in offers which enemy gm obviously knows is not gonna hurt their roster (mikes offer)?

U got all the upper hand in the world and I simply have trouble believing/understanding Williams stance. It doesn't make much sense what he says it just sounds like an excuse for prematurely letting the next sidney go WAY below what he shud be worth in our fantasy format league. I'm mad not at William but the approach he took to get this done. I myself kno for a fact i cant afford that pick.... He never even asked me once what i thought of the guys offers. I look out for fellow low feeder teams.
