And I don't understand why you would trade McDavid before giving all GMs the chance to offer for him. It's not like if Mike was about to withdraw that offer, or if DAL wouldn't have get other similar/better offers (in fact I think DAL already received better offers among the public ones.)

This deal will help Dallas in the long-term, but if this is me, I wait out until the draft unless Mike adds the 2016 OTT 1st rounder, given where Ottawa landed this season. I don't think there should be any reason to not have Mike's likely highest 1st rounder in this deal.

Yep sure were and I asked opinions on all of them from more than a handful of guys in here and took their feedback and made an evaluation. I get the generational talent but hard to argue turning a guy who's not even drafted yet into two young Nhl players, and handful of 1st round specs developing nicely and some more 1st. If I was in a different situation I'd kept him but I'm just trying to improve the cards I was dealt.
