Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
yes.. if claiming a player from waivers, he'll have to stay on your 23 man roster.. or else you'll have to waiver the player again to be assigned to your minor league affliate.Snipeshow wroteCOLONSo claim then waive again I assume?Starpainter wroteCOLONNo, they would need to clear first.Snipeshow wroteCOLONCan we place our waiver claims in the minors?

Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
Picking up Huet would put you over the cap, unless you are putting a 5 mil player on waivers/have a 5m waiver exempt player to send down.Snipeshow wroteCOLONSt. Louis places a claim on Huet.

He's on loan, so I believe his salary would not count against the cap.Kezia wroteCOLONPicking up Huet would put you over the cap, unless you are putting a 5 mil player on waivers/have a 5m waiver exempt player to send down.Snipeshow wroteCOLONSt. Louis places a claim on Huet.
Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
To pick someone off of waivers, you need to place them on your active roster. Huet hasn't been loaned out yet.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONHe's on loan, so I believe his salary would not count against the cap.Kezia wroteCOLONPicking up Huet would put you over the cap, unless you are putting a 5 mil player on waivers/have a 5m waiver exempt player to send down.Snipeshow wroteCOLONSt. Louis places a claim on Huet.

Hold on here...then what salary are we going with then? I'd want a little amnesty and be given a chance to pull him back if his actual contract isn't being used. I realize this is a unique situation but I'm waiving him on the understanding these he's got a $5.8 million cap hit whether he is or isn't with the Blackhawks. It shouldn't be any different than a NHL player being sent down...his cap hit should be the full amount. If someone wants to waste almost $6 million in cap room to store him on their bench, be my guest. My vision was to see him clear waivers here and I'd bury him until next year when maybe he comes back.

Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
No he hasn't. He cleared waivers today and there have been no reports of him being loaned out. You can't be loaned out until you clear waivers.

Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
I kinda agree here... I don't see why his contract wouldn't be full in the first place (in our league, not NHL). It's the same as the Redden situation. Sure, he may be in the minors and thus off of NYR books but that doesn't change for us. I don't see a difference between playing in Hartford and playing in Europe.Shoalzie wroteCOLON Hold on here...then what salary are we going with then? If he's not worth any money although he's got two years left on his NHL contract. It's not like he was bought out. Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
His cap hit isn't counted in the real NHL, therefore it doesn't count here. Loaned players don't count against your cap.Shoalzie wroteCOLONMSP4LYFE wroteCOLONHe's on loan, so I believe his salary would not count against the cap.Kezia wroteCOLONPicking up Huet would put you over the cap, unless you are putting a 5 mil player on waivers/have a 5m waiver exempt player to send down.Snipeshow wroteCOLONSt. Louis places a claim on Huet.

Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
I don't see where this was ever mandated. Being in the AHL is still a 'loan' yet we keep that salary active in BBKL. I agree with Shoalzie here.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONHis cap hit isn't counted in the real NHL, therefore it doesn't count here. Loaned players don't count against your cap.

Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
Right now Huet is the equivalent of an unsigned Euro, his hit does not count against the cap of any North American organization, not the NHL, and not the AHL.Starpainter wroteCOLONI kinda agree here... Redden is different, as he cleared waivers to come off the cap, and is still being paid out by New York, it just doesnt count against their official cap.
Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
Care to translate that for me? I have no idea what it says. From all reports I've seen, he is rumored to be lent out but never actually lent out.Shoalzie wroteCOLONKezia wroteCOLONNo he hasn't. Re: [WAIVERS] Place claims here
We can't treat him like he has no salary because he does still have a contract with the Blackhawks. Chicago is paying his salary. I realize he doesn't have an NHL salary cap value but I'd like a ruling on this before I officially put him through waivers. If he's worth no money, than I choose to pull him back and I'll place Theodore on reserve since he's unsigned.
