Neel it used to infuriate me to no end...In order to to key in on strengths and weaknesses of a prospect, you need to watch them for at least 10-15 games, likely more. The crowd at HF saw one tournament, and just like that the book was supposedly out on him...It got to the point where people would just make up criticisms, like MSP has an akward stride, or he isnt strong enough on the puck. Things got even worse when MSP fell to 10, after that point people were convinced something was wrong with him. It was almost as bad as the Kadri hate on draft day, which I myself am guilty of, though in my defence, I was more pissed off that we passed on MSP then anything, we could have taken Duchene and I'd be pissed, lol.

You know what the worst part was? MSP was arguably Sweden's best player in that game...And it was against Canada FFS, Semin, Zherdev, Ov and Malkin have all been shutdown by Canada.

It takes you a while to appreciate what he does. He probably isn't the highest top end speed skater, but his acceleration and burst is out of this world. Seriously give him a few feet and he'll make you pay. Hes fantastic at finding the ice to do it too, hes patient, He'll wait and when that space is there for that split second he'll make you pay. Hes going to be damn entertaining for years to come. With great talent around him he should do even better, he isn't likely at his best when he has to do it all alone because he can't utilize his vision as well in that set up. Hes going to be on some highlight reels for sure.
My only concern with him is that I don't think hes ever faced the level of physical competition that would make him even consider backing off. I want to see how he handles it for the first time, getting drilled or a defenseman closing him down in that space. Honestly I think he'll be fine, and he'll be a consistent threat too. Theres a few prospects that I just find amazing to watch hes one of them.

Bruins release the following players from camp.

Andrew Bodnarchuk, Jordan Knackstedt, Lane MacDermid, Kirk MacDonald and Jeff Penner, J. Knight, Button and Cunningham.

Spooner sticking around...

Bruins practice lines.

Lucic - Krejci - Horton ( im gitty)
Recchi - Bergy - Seguin
sauve - spooner - Caron
Arniel - Campbell- Mcgrattan

Think the top two lines will be carved in stone to start year until Savard is back. And third line is a guess. Maybe to see who will play with Ryder and Wheeler or if Wheeler sticks at center? who knows...

Quite surprised by Button. Apparently he looked quite well in rookie games. Spooner has been money. i dont think he has a chance to stay though. There is basically 1 or 2 spots available until Savard and Sturm come back. The Wheeler at center kinda through a monkey wrench into things. Top 4 candidates to stay imo, would be: Caron, Colborne, Sauve, Hamill. If they decide they need a center it will be Colborne over Hamill, imo but if they go winger Caron/Sauve. Tough call between those two. I thought Hamill had regressed but he has steadily improved since the rookie games. who the hell knows...lol

You know, I dont have a clue, really. There is so much possibilities. Alot of people are saying Hamill will finally get his chance and he is most ready to step in and now I am reading that alot of people say Spooner could shock everyone and make this team kinda like Duchene did in Colorado. Concerned with his 170 lb frame and the grind of the entire season. Fak...All i know is that there is one pile of awesome fucking young talent in the pipes....

And tell me that third line for tommorows game is not going to just fly...

Sauve - Spooner - Caron

That makes me giddy...

Being both Spooner's owner in this league and a Petes fan I'm kinda torn.

No harm giving him another year in junior.... also I have Colborne and Hamill so you can't really go wrong :D

Speaking of awesome lines: Puempel - Spooner - Watson!

Yes, Scott I did, typo sorry. Duchene was a given. O'Reilly really came out of nowhere to make that team.

I completely agree, the acceleration is truly world class, it may even be stronger than Gaborik and Stamkos, although he isn't yet as strong on his skates as either of those two, once he improves the lower body strength it's going to be extremely difficult to stop him.

In a wierd way I think it might turn out for the best that MSP was drafted by Edmonton. His game is really going to flourish there, and with Eberle and Hall he could form a championship calibre club, and there will be lack of coverage on him either.

You can stamp my ticket for the MSP bandwagon. I'm sold. But apparently he only wants to be called MP now, so you need to change your nick Kareem.

He did it for media purposes, his legal name is still Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson, the (PS) is interchangable, besides i'd never change my nick, it's become a trademark.
