Thanks for having me here! My name is Ronald (call me Ron) and I use the same username on HFBoards. I am 26 years old (not over 40! sorry to disappoint). Not sure if there is another thread for this but I was able to access this thread at work. (Some of the threads are banned by my work place, which is odd).
My experience in keeper leagues comes from the one league posted earlier in this thread that is heading to its sixth year, in which, 3 of the years I have been commissioner. We consider our league to be one of the most active in the Vancouver boards with many committed GMs setting their lineups daily to ensure the competition is at the highest level. By taking over a team in BBKL, I look forward to being challenged in a newer keeper league format, which includes lots of trade talks, management of cap space and prospect scouting.
I am interested in taking either of the two teams available at the moment and look forward in having lots of fun trade talking with you all!
I am also auditioning for the Vancouver Canucks GM position. Have had a good amount of experience with keeper leagues, have been co-managing my own for the past few years and have been looking for some more difficult competition. While I have had a lot of fun in the league I built, and it does have a great group of guys, I feel that they won't ever have the same level of commitment and intensity that I give to my fantasy hockey. I have gone above and beyond in that league to build a champion, with 3 straight finals appearances and finally breaking the curse taking the trophy last year. You guys haven't even selected me yet and I have already spent last night and most of this morning reading through your boards, gauging player trade values, and doing an entire talent evaluation of the Canucks current roster. The team is going to take a lot of work, but I'm up to the challenge of completely rebuilding that franchise, starting with what I hope to be a extremely active offseason. I take my fantasy hockey seriously (its way more fun when you do!) and I can see you guys think the same way, so I hope you will take me on for your league.
