[2010] Entry Draft Discussion
Re: Entry Draft Discussion
lol.
i've watched lots of WHL... and lots of Nino
he is VERY good... especially at this level... he's bigger and faster.... but my fear with him is what happens when he is not bigger or faster? but rather normal NHL size and only kinda fast?
he does have puck skills though, and the damn thing seems to follow him around
and his best game of WJC was vs the russians... who don't match well versus a player like him.

Re: Entry Draft Discussion
oh, i also like Gudbranson, so don't go trading for the 7th thinking you'll get him....lol
if he's around at 6 he'll probably be my guy.
i forgot to add him to my list of players i'm targetting.

Good work everyone, you deterred him away from taking Nino at 6.sgupca wroteCOLONoh, i also like Gudbranson, so don't go trading for the 7th thinking you'll get him....lol

Re: Entry Draft Discussion
The draft is actually at Staples this year and I was thinking of going ... the only problem is I have no clue where to get tickets. Do I even need tickets? I can't find where to get them anywhere ...

That's awesome man if you can attend! I love LA btw. I got relatives in Alhambra and also in Fresno. Spent a few summers there. Good times!Nighthock wroteCOLONThe draft is actually at Staples this year and I was thinking of going ... the only problem is I have no clue where to get tickets. Do I even need tickets? Oh Jeez. Even worse press for Kabanov..

- Kicked off MonctonIn an exclusive interview with THN, agent J.P. Barry revealed that he and his agency, CAA, have parted ways with mercurial Russian prospect Kirill Kabanov.
“It just wasn’t a fit,” Barry said. “We wish him the best, but we advised him to seek other representation.”
Kabanov was only with the firm for a couple months, but in that time Barry (who represents Evgeni Malkin, among other NHL stars) helped guide the talented left winger through the NHL Draft Combine process, which included many interviews with teams curious about what they could expect from a player who had run-ins with the Kontinental League, the Quebec League’s Moncton Wildcats and the Russian World Under-18 Championship team.
Amidst all those burnt bridges this season, Kabanov’s stock for the 2010 draft plummeted from the top five to perhaps somewhere in the second or third round by now. THN’s Draft Preview ranked him No. 38 this year.
Still, the kid can produce on the ice. In an injury-shortened season with Moncton, Kabanov put up 23 points in 22 games. Nevertheless, his penchant for rubbing coaches and management the wrong way has gotten him in trouble numerous times.
