Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Hello, and welcome to the 2012 BBKL Entry Draft. I'll be your host for these proceedings!
Every year, the GMs of the league gather to determine The Next Ones. The names and faces on both sides of the fence are constantly changing, but one thing remains the same; These kids truely are the future of the game.
In many consults over the past few weeks, the top 5 players in this draft have already been locked in. Nail Yakupov will no doubt be the number one overall pick, the only question is, to whom.
Rumours of GM Luke of Winnipeg shopping the pick when the clock goes live have been running rampant.
The second pick, belonging to GM Shep, is widely considered to be used on Russian - American center Alex Galchenyuk. Despite missing the greater part of the year, this kid is a dynamic talent.
Chiming in at number 3 is the new owner of the pick, Shook of San Jose. Despite being new to the team, Shook has been a fantastic GM in the past. It's a very un-well-kept secret that Shooker has been targeting Swedish stalwart Filip Forsberg.
After missing games and moving down a spot, GM Lee of the Philadelphia Flyers is said to be targeting Mikhail Grigorenko of the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.
At number 5, in what could be the steal of the draft, GM Shep is on the clock again, targeting all -around dman Ryan Murray. NHL ready now talent followed by the maturity of someone twice his age, this looks like a great pick for Mr Shep.
After this, it's really a crap-shoot. It will be exciting to see whom goes where, and I'll be with you every step of the way!
