We should go through this thread and figure out who has been illegally dropped after (start or finish?) of waiver draft. Pretty sure I see a few players. I actually believe I may have accidentally dropped Jim o'brien. So yeah, I guess my drop was illegal. :-/ anyone want him?

That's pointless since like I have been saying the "illegally" dropped players can just be left off roster submission. It doesn't make sense to say we can't drop players before roster submission.

Ah, I see. I thought you were talking about teams carrying 50+ contracts all ready.

As long as everyone is roster and cap compliant for roster submission on Monday I don't see an issue with dropping someone post waiver draft. Once roster submission has passed then no more free drops and all rules will be enforced.

Yup, not sure why that isn't a rule. Ideally the free drop period would end with the beginning of the waiver draft, but such is life.

I don't know if it's in writing but that has been the rule. You're only able to drop a signed player prior to the start of the waiver draft. Those signed players would be exposed to the waiver draft. Then any remaining signed player after the draft could be claimed...assuming your team has the room to add the contract. You shouldn't be claiming a free agent when you're at or over 50 contracts unless you planned to trade away any contracts.
