So MTL gets a free 1st round pick essentially... because Pageau and Lowry are basically a wash. Odd.

A 30th overall pick to make playoff hockey this season, given pageau is out for the year. If Ur in compete mode I'd say that is worth it.

Seems like you could have found a stop gap for much cheaper, and about the same type of production....
