MLB Trade Deadline

Post by MSP4LYFE »

Things are really heating up as we approach the MLB trade deadline, alot of the Jays players are rumoured to be dealt; Jose Bautista, Kevin Gregg, Scott Downs, Edwin Encarnacion, Jason Frasor, Shaun Marcum and Lyle Overbay.

Scott Downs in particulaur has generated a bidding war between the top teams in the game, including the Sox and Yanks. He is the clear cut top lefty on the market, and Type A eligible so I expect a substantial return. Apparently the Rockies have singled out Kevin Gregg as the top reliever on their list, so a deal could be made there as well, perhaps Rex Brothers in return?

No one is untouchable, if we can get a package of high ceiling prospects, Marcum, not unlike anyone else on this team will be gone.

Man, lots of guys available on the Jays...I'm excited.

Talks about Downs being offered for Joba and AA asking for Casey Kelly and Jose Iglesisas...AA is asking for a lot..I like it.

I don't. AA can't get carried away here.

Downs may have Type A status, but it's also not a guarantee he'll turn down arbitration. He'll probably be offered something in the $5 million range, an amount I'm sure teams will be weary of.

WTF.

Oswalt to the Phillies for JA Happ, Anthony Gose and another prospect. The Astros then flip Gose to the Jays for Brett Wallace. I dunno about this one. Hopefully AA knows what he's doing here.
