Rykov. Good pickup by both teams.
My boy, Rykov - woot. Best player in that trade...

It was obvious that he was going to get paid while having a career year. It's just another example of the Islanders doing Islander things. Lord help that team if JT does decide to leave.

He's 28 now and contract runs til hes 34. Not that lol worthy. If he can stick with JT {pending premise} the rest of the way and taper off at 40ish pts in his final days, this contract is as good as it gets for both sides.

This contract actually tells me JT likely stays an Islander.

Hometown discount, helps with JT.

I still hate Bailey but he would've gotten between 6-7m if he hit the open market so not awful value wise. If we lose JT it'll be a disaster, but while glued to JT and it pains me to admit he's solid.

Teams are stupid and pay for recent success, cap is going up, yeah I'm confident he would've been $6-7m per on the open market. And whoever signed him would've instantly regretted it.

118 points in the last 139 games, he continues this for the rest of the season you're gonna seriously tell me no one would pay him $6m a year?

maybe someone stupid enough would have, DET, VAN, ...but the market has much better wingers out there that may suppress that (Hoffman, Patches, etc)
