Turris wanted 7-8 years to re-sign in Ottawa...6 years was never on the table according to GMPD

then Turris signs for 6 in Nashville.

Two-time Cy Young winner Roy Halladay was killed in a plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday, the Pasco Sheriff's Office confirmed.

The plane - described by the sheriff's office as an ICON A5 light sport aircraft - went down 10 miles west of St. Petersburg around 1 p.m.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of this amazing and generous individual," the Pasco Sheriff said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. "Our hearts go out to Roy and his family."

The specifics of the crash are still under investigation.

It's fine I don't need any fucking childhood idols anyways. Dude was only 7 years older than me? What the fuck.

It just makes me sad that he had such a promising retirement life ahead of him and could've seen him involved in baseball life (not sure if he wanted to) as an influencial figure... oh well it's not as traumatizing as Taveras/Fernandez case since they were so young

That is heartbreaking to hear. From reading other pitchers on Twitter he was very well-respected and well-regarded. He was always a guy worth watching when he pitched...one of the greats of this generation.

So much outpouring and so many kind words being said about him throughout the evening. Hate to see someone that respected go so soon.

nah.. he doesn't want to get involved with baseball after retirement even though the jays and phillies had offered him some coaching role... his passion is his family and flying..

he is just such a great human being.. i read that after the post season no hitter... he didn't go immediately to the conference room for interview after leaving the locker room.. the first thing he did was to talk to his 2 sons that they will be celebrating Ryan (the younger son)'s birthday the day after...

and he's just so classy.. if he gets into HOF he wants to do it and represent the jays...

and he's like... i guess apart from sundin.. who i respect a lot and will always be my most favourite leafs of all time.. halladay is like he sticks with the jays during his prime and want to win it as a jays... he didn't go for big money in the open market.. there's just so many toronto iconic figures that abandons the city (cough carter cough clemens).... the fans love him and support him to go for a contender.. we all know toronto owed him sooooooo much..

Joe Sakic on Kamenev:
"He had visa issues. But I would love him to come in Stockholm and play for us. Once we get back we’re going to bring him up. And I’m excited to have him. He’s a big responsible centreman. He’s got a lot of skill. He fits with what exactly we wanna do"
