While no update on the severity of the injury, The Athletic’s Arthur Staple reports that the injury that New York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov suffered during warmups is a jaw issue, not a neck issue.

As long as it’s not a broken jaw. A broken jaw would not be good lol

Not really a surprise. He's barely useful.

Are COVID related missing games consider IR eligible in BBKL? Any special rules related to guys missing games (obviously in regards to Kuznetsov for me)

Hi Josh, I'll post this in the announcement thread as well as here.

There will be 3 options based upon information available:

1. If an entire NHL team goes to covid protocol, meaning games will be delayed, but made up at a later date, then the players cannot go to ir/ltir since those delayed games will essentially be a scheduling change.

2. If an individual goes to covid protocol, with no official announcement on a positive diagnosis, then the player can go to IR.

3. If an individual goes to covid protocol, and the NHL announces the player has tested positive for covid, then the player can go to LTIR.

I think both teams win. CBJ gets the higher potential whereas WPG gets the more needed position. Schief and Dubois down the middle with those wingers is scary. WPG just needs a few more good dmen and watch out.

Scheifele and Dubois down the middle is a nice 1-2. They have two great wingers already in ehlers and Connor too. Good trade for both sides I’d say
