The 2 year extension would have given him $1.8m a year, a raise from his $1.5m. Most cup winning coaches now are earning $3m, sounds like they couldn't bridge that gap

for those who have not already known.. bob's list is now available.

- These lists are always an inexact science, but the marginal difference between prospects ranked from Nos. 21 through 65 is really slim this season.

Outside of the goalies the top 65, pretty much every prospect got some consideration as a top 31 pick. It’s going to be a really scattershot affair beyond the top 20.

Mike Hoffman, D Cody Donaghy and Ottawa's 5th round pick in 2020 has been traded for F Mikkel Boedker, D Julius Bergman and San Jose's 6th round pick in 2020.

That is one heck of a deal for San Jose.

Hoffman is probably not as much the problem as his woman is so the Sharks will benefit from this on the ice. Whether Karlsson leaves Ottawa or not...no way does Hoffman stay there considering the toxic situation around them. Win-win for the Sharks...Boedker has been a bust of a signing and they get the obvious player upgrade.

Hoffman himself has had some poor character issues rumoured around him in junior as well, so not JUST his apparently crazy fiancee

It probably does reflect poorly on him based on the people he surrounds himself with. Off-the-ice...that's not a good look for him. You don't see WAGs of players being that kind of an issue.

From a straight-up hockey perspective...I'd rather have Mike Hoffman on my team than Mikkel Boedker. If they can juggle the potential distractions/character issues with Hoffman coming to town...the Sharks already showed that they're not afraid to take a chance with a guy after they acquired Evander Kane...and they doubled-down by signing him to a long-term deal.

I like Boedker to Ottawa. A fast guy with skill will pair nicely with Duchene - another fast weapon for Karlsson to feed... oh wait...

At the very least the Sharks are going to be an interesting team to follow. Their willingness to embrace a little drama in their room makes them a helluva science experiment.

As a sharks fan I was hoping SJS would buyout Boedker. I guess I got my wish but at the expense of my home team :(

Wilson is GM of the year. That is hilarious.

Ottawa trades him as far away as possibly, taking back Boedker back who was a baad signing.

Wilson immediately flips him back to the division for 3 picks. Gets rid of Boedker for that.

So Dorion is a fucking tool
