A reboot is a lot of work and it's counter to the plans of a lot of us here. Some of us have a multi-year plan with their team and doing a reboot essentially undoes all the work we've done up to this point. We can't dangle the reboot idea every time someone gets "a little bored". We seem to go through this every couple years or it happens this time of year.

From my perspective, if we started over, I'd probably leave. I like being part of something that has history and is well-established.

I think we have two slow periods on the calendar...right now with the playoffs and the trade freeze and I think the middle of the summer is a dead period because most of the trade activity is done in and around the draft and the start of free agency. Things pick up again once we get into September and training camps open and then we have our usual activity during our regular season which covers most of the calendar year.

I can't speak for everyone but even I need a break from this league during the year. You can't go all out 12 months a year. Let the league breathe when there's a slow period. Don't get anxious and start throwing out radical ideas because you're bored.

I've been thinking of ways for us to stay engaged throughout the season. Maybe have a weekly or bi-weekly or monthly group chat/meeting session on something like Skype or some video meeting app. Hell, I thought it would be fun to do a video podcast-ish thing where we can get a small panel of us together and talk about league matters or get to know each other. Just do something for us here...not meant for public consumption.

I'm at the point where I would just stay in the leagues I'm in but probably not join any new ones any time soon. I'm more likely to reduce the number of leagues I'm involved in or find leagues where I can just be a GM since this is the league I'm most involved in.

Being in a variety of leagues scratches the itch of being in different kinds of leagues. I have re-draft leagues and dynasty leagues with or without contracts/free agency. Variety keeps each league fresh and unique from each other. I don't want to be in 5 leagues that have the exact same rules and format.

Honestly the league needs a reboot to fix issues caused before most of the current GMs were a part of the league.

Would be fun to start a league similar to what IFFHL did 6 years ago. No taking over teams and instead do a full fantasy draft where every player is available. Would be more complicated doing it with a full league though since that one is only 24 teams so there's enough NHL bodies to go around.

Would be fun.

ADHL kind of spawned from here in 2015. Similar league with some slight tweaks to scoring and we get resign tags to use on a certain amount of UFAs and then there is a UFA period with some depth NHLers. Lots of overlap with BBKL GMs and a few guys that are GMs here started over there. There are 6 members here that are on ADHL's CC so if a team opens up we can let you know.
