I think pim is actually kinda a fun stat to have. I just really dislike +/- as an individual stat. Maybe it is time we considered adding an advanced stat ?

Maybe we should add a stat that tracks beard hairs.

It would make players like Radko Gudas more valuable while making Sidney Crosby less valuable.

Deep state advanced stats.

I've always wondered why neuvirth is never given a chance as a starter. His stats always seem to be quite good.

Well, he had a chance to take a stranglehold on the job an then can down with an illness. Elliott had a couple of really good starts to follow.

I'd be more on board with replacing +- then PIMs since +- has no affect on player value.

Don’t we already have even strength points sorta covered with STP and points? I could see splitting STP into pp and shorty points and then make points just even strength points? But I don’t really like it to be honest. Don’t see why +/- is so bad.

No we don't because STP has nothing to do with even strength and pts are just a sum of all parts. It gives value to different types of players by splitting es, pp, and sh into 3 seperate categories. Es scoring would give value to some of the better players in the NHL that don't necessarily see a ton of time on special teams.

And +/- is the most useless stat ever attached to an individual players performance. Devalues good players that are stuck on bad teams.
