A retool of the FOR system for C eligibility is underway.

Please note that the new FOR threshold has been set at 0.45.

Specifics about GP requirements and timings of in-season updates will be made available once approved by CC.

For those that do not remember how to check Face-Of-Ratio (FOR):

Get the player's Face-Offs-Taken (FOT), which is the number of Face-Offs-Lost (FOL) plus Face-Offs-Won (FOW).

And the player's total time-on-ice (toi).

the formula is really basic: FOR = FOT/toi

We'll be producing the list of BBKL-Centres shortly if you are too lazy or stupid to compute yourself. There will be several Centres switching to Wingers in our listing, because the bar has been raised, it was previously FOR =>.3 is a Centre, and is now FOR=>.45

List of centres

That list includes only centres who played 20 or more games last season. Anyone who played 20 or more games last season and is not on that list is not a centre.

Other players not on that list may still be centres: rookies and players who played less than 20 games in 2013, but had a FOR of .45 or higher in the previous qualifying season.

Just a clarification:

as was announced here in January
http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6165 ... 21#p117451
If the NHL limit will be confirmed at 90 or more, our max number will grow to 90 for next season (September/October 2013 roster submission).
the limit to comply with for the 2013 roster submission will be 90 as, contrary to a previous report, the newly released NHL CBA confirmed that to be the max total number of owned players by a NHL team.

Timeline of important dates approaching:

All GM Check In Deadline is September 6th @ 10pm EST. A post is required in to be created thread.

Placeholder list is due by September 15 @ 10pm EST, once again, a post is required in to be created thread.

Roster Submission for the 2013-2014 BBKL season is Septemeber 25th @ Midnight EST, if made before this date, any changes will need to be made to reflect roster at this point in time. You're likley getting the trend, but a thread will be made for you to post in. 1 post each for ease of tracking.

I believe First roster lock is 3:55pm EST October 1st.

A reminder to all that for Roster Submisison, a legal roster is required, within the cap restricitions, positional requirements, and assets #, a list to show all of these details is also required, someone will provide a format that should be followed when he makes the thread. Ditto, obviously, for Roster Lock with an "active" player list to reflect who you're dressing that week (match between CBS & BBKL).

Phion will no longer be a GM in the BBKL, in accordance with league rules, having used all of his warning strikes the CC has voted to fire Phion as GM of the BBKL Buffalo Sabers. His infraction list is as follows:
1st warning: Failure to submit roster (02.10.13)
2nd warning: Repeated failure to adhere to admin requests to do so (02.10.13)
3rd warning: Over roster and contract limits (03.12.13)
Final Strike: Failure to Check in, Failure to submit CBS missing assets & lack of BBKL activity. (09.10.13)
That is 3 warnings and a final strike within a 12-month period, the vote reached majority with no concern being voiced. Phion will not be invited to respond to this decision.

Starting immediately, Bruyns (Matt) will be hired as GM of the BBKL Buffalo Sabers. Big Fun (Steve) will be his Senior Adviser, as such Bryuns will require his sign-off on any deals until Monday September 30th @ 7:30pm EST, after which point, Big Fun will remain an impartial adviser (having no trade talks) until October 14th @ 7:30pm EST. Due to impending roster submission and the state of the Saber's roster, there will be no trade-freeze for Bruyns . Please join me in welcoming Matt to our exclusive club as Fantasy GMs in this extremely competitive and in-depth league.

This is a good reminder for all GMs that the activity and book-keeping portion of the BBKL are necessary aspects of the league. In comparison to the tasks undertaken by many to make this league function, these requirements are very small. Manage your roster/team, do so honestly and be an active member of our community.

Admin & CC update regarding weekly roster requirements:

Plenty of learning time and leeway has been given, starting week 9 warnings will be given to GMs who fail to update and submit their rosters. The process is not burdensome, unfair or complicated; best practice is as follows:

1) Well in advance of the *typically 7pm EST* CBS roster lock, do your research.
2) Set the roster on your google-docs to ensure cap and roster regulations are followed.
3) Mirror that roster into CBS (now you know you are BBKL roster compliant).
4) CBS rosters lock.
5) Within a reasonable period of time (24 hours from CBS roster lock) post in the 2013-2014 [TRANSACTIONS] - Weekly Roster Moves (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10046).
.............. i) this weekly post needs to include a link to matching google-doc week.
.............. ii) quote the cap box.
.............. iii) -> added benefit for everyone if you list the moves made, gives GM some protection from accidents as well.

example:
Link to TBL Week 8: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... _web#gid=3

Steve Stamkos removed from roster (traded to WPG)
Shea Weber set to active (via trade from WPG)
Nail Yakupov added to minors (waiver trade from WPG, waiver exempt)
Zach Bogosian moved to IR (1)
Anton Belov set to active (waiver exempt)
Spent before relief: $62,333,190
LTIR Relief: $0
Total Spent: $62,333,190
Cap Space: $1,966,810
Space from Floor: $18,333,190

Total Contracts (/50): 41
Total Players (/90): 64
No players on waivers.

for simplicity sake (say you are too busy to bump a trade block or make CBS roster changes, than we understand that this could be considered time consuming) if you truly have no changes, the post is simpler:

As announced months ago and repeatedly mentioned since, the FOR threshold has been raised to 0.45 for this season.

Here (3rd tab) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... _web#gid=2 you can find the FOR list that will be used to perform the updates during this week, accordingly with the following specifics:

- stats were generated from all NHL games played this season through the end of November
- updates will apply to Monday 9th roster lock
- GMs may request data and role revision for a player of theirs within Monday 9th (status might change between nov 30th and dec 9th for players on the bubble)
- eligible for the update will be veterans with at least 20gp as of nov 30th and bbkl-rookies (i.e. players who currently still have their bbkl position determined by the outdated nhl.com draft lists) with at least 10 games as of nov 30th
- a second automatic update based on stats registered at the Olympic break will occurr during the Olympics and apply to first roster lock after the break
- NO updates will occur between the 2 automatic updates

Update performed on CBS:
http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3669 ... 71#p161871

effective from week #11, behave accordingly.
Please remind you are not allowed to use players in a different position than the one currently set on CBS even if CBS provides a dual role for some players (in-week fixes and sanctions would follow if that happens).

No updates upon requests will be granted beyond December 9th

Please point out any mistake/omission you might notice, thanks.

Make my life a little easier: when you are done editing your week in Google Docs right click the tab of the most recent week and click on "Duplicate"

Image

Double click the new tab "Copy of Week 17" and rename it "Week 18".

If you guys do this I don't need to do it for 30 teams. Thanks.

CC/Admin Announcement:

At the summation of round 2, the BBKL trade freeze will be lifted, all GMs have the option to post deals, confirmed on BBKL.ca, but not processed on CBS.
- We apologize for the delayed response, it was a long discussion
- Trading for GP or GGP will not occur, as the trades are not processed
- There is a long off-season, hopefully this doesn't result in an earlier burn-out
- A discussion regarding future practice on this matter should take place this summer

New parameters for waiver eligibility

The requirements for players to be exempt from waivers in BBKL have been modified:
Skaters will need to have played max 120 NHL regular season games AND to have yet to turn 28 as of October 1st to be waiver exempt throughout the starting BBKL season.
Goalies will need to have played max 60 NHL regular season games AND to have yet to turn 28 as of October 1st to be waiver exempt throughout the starting BBKL season.

That means skaters with 121 NHL regular season games will be eligible for waivers no matter the age, just like 29 yrs old players with less games played.

If under NHL contract, such players will be exposed to waivers if in the minors at roster submission (for season opener) and whenever they are demoted during the season (off-season excluded).

Fantrax deadline

The deadline to submit complete and up to date rosters on Fantrax has been set on May 15th.
Dallas, Colorado, St.Louis, Ottawa, Vancouver are teams whose GMs have yet to complete the transition from CBS.

After May 15th sanctions and warnings/possible removal would ensue.
