Your dislike of Mik and or Kuznetzov doesnt mean everyone has to agree and I think that Weber at 30 is worth less than Weber at 25 and most people would agree.

Sure they are entitled to their own opinion just as I am to my own. I've also clearly stated why my opinion is what it is. I've also stated that I think he is a very good player, but not an elite one and he is now being paid like an elite player, so it has nothing to do with hatred for Kuznetsov.

thats basically three 1sts for kuz 2nd in value
fact that there are no proven active nhlers in the package warrants that much at least

Would have been big overpay with Elias, take him and the 2nd out and it's still a 1st and two good prospects for Kuz.

anyway, still at least 4 teams well into this, don't know what I'll do but depending on how things evolve today a decision might come as early as tonight

CasperX22 wroteCOLON You are aware that the prime for forwards rate stats peak at 24 and start to decline into their late 20's right? Sure pp1 time might help him if there was a huge gap between their 1st and 2nd unit. The 2nd unit also runs through Kuzy. It won't on the 1st unit. All these factors come into play.
lol
Hey if you think you have an elite #1 center there by all means keep him. One way or another you are going to have to move some bloated contracts.
I loled at the fact you make it sound like he's about to decline while he's just coming off his 3rd full NHL season.. or no big deal going from 2nd PP unit to 1st
CasperX22 wroteCOLONOut of curiosity though, how many points do you think Kuznetsov will score next year?
about PPG, he basically was that already 2 seasons ago while on PP2
I never said anything about declining. I said his rate stats have likely peaked. And you are delusional if you think Kuznetsov will be a ppg player next season. 1. Bc he is not that good. He needed an incredibly fortunate set of circumstances to get to 77 in 2015-2016. 2. He is not the 1st line center in the team. 3. His possession metrics and zone entry metrics are not elite. 4. I don't even think he will move up to the 1st unit. It's pointless bc that unit basically runs through Ovi and Backstrom. Plus somebody has to run that 2nd unit.
LOL. One year later this seems settled already.
Not only Kuz was over a PPG in regular season, one could argue he was the best skater in the league during the playoffs overall.
In the process, not only he was on par with Backstrom's level, he actually outplayed him in both PO and RS (when Backstrom wasn't playing through an injury).

though in a different deal in those same days Mason brought me 2019 1st Rounder (OTT) + Aleksi Saarela who then basically turned into a late 1st (in another deal), so you'd have to subtract those 1sts from what I'd have got from you..

if you look at it like:

Kuznetsov
2019 1st OTT
2019 1st WSH

for

Niemi
Rakell
2019 1st CAR
2019 2nd CAR

it's not that good despite Rakell's career year

That 2019 CAR pick is Hughes though so it's still a much better offer.

You can't even know for sure it's going to be a higher pick than Ottawa's, let alone being Hughes

Guess he should Thank Backstrom for taking the tough matchups and sheltering him eh ;)

Backstrom cf rel% 4.81 Kuznetsov cf rel% -0.40
Backstrom gf rel% 11.55 Kuznetsov gf rel% 4.44
Backstrom off zone fo% 51.62 Kuznetsov off zone fo% 56.28
Backstrom scf rel% 4.23 Kuznetsov scf rel% 1.64

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Congratulations: Backstrom makes Kuznetsov's job easy.
